  2. It worth checking the Castrol Oil Selector site to confirm if there is an alternative oil https://www.castrol.com/en_gb/united-kingdom/home/car-engine-oil-and-fluids/motor-oil-and-fluids-finder.html
  3. I have found that using an ABS sensor from the same model of car but another corner (has to be as long if not longer) does work - e.g. O/S/R for use in N/S/R or either one of the front wheels Also, has to be the same fitting but as the resistance is not too different (higher. lower) so it does function and then you just loop the cable so its tucked out of the way
  4. Oh definitely one with gum protection as well 🙂

  11. Good morning everyone. I would need help to know the reference number of the brake pads for the "NISSIN 16cl14vnh" calipers that I have on my car. This is because when I was looking for parts, I saw that they are available for the AKEBONO and SUMITOMO systems and I was confused which one would be recommended. So if anyone can indicate the correct reference of the brake pads for the NISSIN braking system. By the way, is the VIN of the car LUC GG3 760 9321 7653, if that can help? I also leave an image of the brake caliper that I refer to. Thanks
  12. Hi Alan if you have any pics or any more information I will be interested in the car
  13. I have the same issue. The rear footwell behind the driver is getting soaked after the wash bottle has been filled. The wash bottle loses liquid without the washers being activated. i will try and access the area and sort a fix based on the advice here.
  14. Hi there, im hoping someone can help me, My Dad owned a Honda prelude silver 1993 around 2001/2 before he passed, private plate was put onto the vehicle C14NMJ. I can only find information from 2006 to 2012. Last time it was on the road from what I can find is 2010 and the last V5c issue was 2012, if anyone can help with further information on this would be greatly appreciated! Mitchell Pheby
  15. Nothings coming up when they put it on the diagnostic machine.
  16. I had an old model (1st generation) CR-V drive past me yesterday and it was kitted out for off-road. Have to say it looked very impressive and judging by this video it is not all show but indeed can go offroad as well
  17. I'm not an expert or even near being one, but I would say it's very uncommon, my 2005 CRV is my first honda and it's so well finished and everything fits like a glove. Sounds and looks like a hard 48K miles. Alan
  18. Hi looking for help I own a 2015 1.6 idtec CRV end of last year it lost power on the motorway badly but we managed to crawl off and call the AA. Recovery man scanned car and only code was MAF signal high at this point he recommended egr check and didn't trust code to be accurate but I changed MAF anyway Cox genuine part but still faulting and if fault happened again I'd strip it down to check egr valve. This fault has happend many times now but I can get car back by turning it off and then back on can't understand why its killing all the power and I mean all of it for just the maf also when driving the car it feels unhappy at 50mph which I think is when is has faulted on most or maybe all instances. Now my issue I've started to strip it down but carbon deposits are little to none on the low pressure egr yes it has two god now's why but I tried finding out as much about this engine before I dived in but that's not easy seems Honda's best kept secret. Next thinking is clean and reassemble what I stripped now and monitor is it happens again I've got to try and get to high pressure side and checked cooler side of system. Sorry for the long post but if any one can suggest things to check I be very grateful.

  20. Hello, I am at a total loss with what to do with my 2012 Civic 1.8, I love driving it but it is has a fault that I'm really struggling to chase. When driving intermittently the indicators will fail and not work, at this point the washer fluid pumps fail and potentially a load of other electrical issues that i have not identified yet. The biggest issue that i face is that then when trying to restart the car the immobiliser light starts flashing and the car does not turn over. Things that i have tried - Plugging it into a diagnostics computer where absolutely zero faults appear (this leads me to think that theres an ECU issue. Checking the grounding of the fuses of the MICU using a multimeter. Several fuses are not grounded (I'm not sure if they are supposed to be) and several fuses (such as the washer pump) are poorly grounded - with a reading of about 0.5 rather than 0.01. Totally removed the MICU to check for corrosion or damage - all appears fine. I have taken the car to an Auto-Electrician who by the time they got to the car it was all fine and no issues could be traced. Thank you for reading and if anyone has any suggestions or has experienced similar faults i would love to hear them please.
  21. It has a timing chain and also naturally aspirated engine
  22. Maybe a compound polishing lotion, with polish drill?
  23. According to Scotty on yt they are better if made in Japan. Also the Yaris import does seem to be valued more then the French version. Insurance will vary depending on the algorithm used?
  24. Thanks for giving feedback on the issue and glad it was quite a simple (and cheap) fix
  25. If the tyres are worn on the inside edge then either you have excessive camber (where the wheels are pointing inwards at the top when viewed from behind or the wheels have excessive toe-in Either way it is advisable to get a four wheel alignment check carried out to determine the cause of the tyre wear
