  2. Hi, Completely agree ! Everyone is taking the P+++ I wonder if the "green agenda/global warming " has its finger in the pie somewhere ? "they" (the system) want to punish vehicle drivers and get us off the road - 20 mph speed limits - 15 minute cities - Insurance premiums through the roof - road fund licence rising above reasonable cost - vehicle service costs and parts costs through the roof. All this is a concerted joint effort by the "powers that be" to destroy our motoring lives - and more importantly our freedom !!!!!!!!!! I wonder if or when the younger generation will hopefully see this and start the fightback ????
  3. Had my renewal update from the RAC today, was £29.50 a month now going up to £46.99. !! So a phone call when I can find the right contact number- 'How can we help you today'? Easy cancel my membership your taking the P with that sort of increase I'll go with Green Flag. 'Lets see if I can help you' .....pause.... 'How about if we can renew your membership with all the current benefits for £31.00'?...... So I said yes but it seems we are being screwed left, right and centre if we don't fight back. Alan

  5. Hello there, just collected my first Honda. Gone electric with the E:Ny1. (Catchy Name?) Very happy so far, range not perfect but ok for our current needs. Moved from Lexus, in part a little upset with their approach to the canbus thefts making their cars the most stolen in the UK by volume sold. Still a fan of Lexus quality and service, had LS400, LS430, GS300, IS200, IS300 and NX300 over many years so hoping Honda can delight me. Last three cars have been NX, Westfield and Corvette C6 so bit of a mixed bag.
  6. Hi Stella, I have a 2020 Honda E, which has just been in to Newton's Croydon today; after my dash lit up like a Christmas tree telling me all the things were faulty starting with brakes. Then parking brake, collision detection, adaptive cruise control, one pedal driving, lane departure mitigation and low speed collision mitigation. After being away for a couple of weeks and going to take the car in for the diag, I found the brakes not to be functioning well... very soft and then a jump where I could then hear the friction brakes being applied, although it was as though it was an old cable style system with no assistance. I'm pleased I was only doing low speeds too! After going in for a diagnostic today - I was told the control unit is faulty. The cost to replace it is £3048! I was advised to speak to Honda direct, as they have seen a lot of these units on different vehicles failing. I think we need to get Honda to admit they have a faulty component and have them in for recall, as you said. Sorry I don't have anything more useful to offer at this point. Nash
  7. Hi Eban Welcome to you and your Mum to the Honda Club Im sure Mum will enjoy her Honda Jazz and hope she has many safe and enjoyable journeys Best Wishes BAZZER RN1
  8. Hi all, I have a 2016 Honda CR-V Black Edition Manual Petrol that has gone into limp mode following an electrical issue. The battery had to be charging once in a while otherwise the battery would have died. The nail in the coffin was when all the lights on the dashboard was lit up everything from AWD, engine management, you name it after starting the car. The local garage suspected the ecu was damaged due to a short, but after diagnostic from Honda there was nothing wrong with the ecu, but they didn’t say what the problem was overall. The garage is now suspecting that there’s damage to a wiring loom or a short somewhere else that has caused the car to go into limp mode as well as all the failures on the dash.
  9. P.S. What are the manufacturing dates of you vehicles? Tks
  10. Hi CRV Pres and Rock4547. You might want to see my recent messages regarding water in the boot well. Regards John I
  11. HI JImmy. You might want to see my recent messages regarding water in my boot well. Regards John I
  12. I have a 2015 HRV that has a continuous puddle in the boot well. It is a manufacturer/ design problem which has no other reason for happening. My dealer confirms that while it is more prevalent in HRV's, they have also had some CRV's with the same problem. At the moment the earliest vehicle I have heard about is 2010 and the latest is 2017. I hoping for more people to come forward and report so I can escalate this. Honda UK have wiped their hands of this but given this is an age problem they haven't dealt with it, and needs attention. If you haven't looked in your boot well for a while, I suggest you check it out. Any help you can provide is much appreciated. John I.
  13. I'm trying to find out how many HRV owners suffer from water puddles in their boot well. I have an HRV 2015 which has a three inch puddle. Approaching my dealer they are aware that this problem exists and have had many vehicles in with the same problem. This is a manufacturing/design problem that has existed for years the earliest of which I have heard is 2010. The latest at the moment is 2017. Honda UK will not admit to this age old problem and are washing their hands of it. If I can get enough evidence i will escalate the problem. For those of you who have not looked in the boot well lately I suggest you check it out. Thank you. John I

  17. I have a 2024 HR-V, just 2 months old. I have had a dead battery a couple of times. The first time was when I was washing the car and left it unlocked (not sure if it was in accessory mode). The next day I tried to start it and the battery was dead. The recovery man jump started it easily and advised leaving it on the driveway in ready mode for a couple of hours. The engine starts occasionally to keep the HV battery charged but the HV battery slow charges the 12V battery while in ready mode. This worked. The dealer looked into it but said the battery tested OK. A couple of weeks later I went on holiday and left the car standing for 9 days only to come back to a flat battery again. They're going to replace the battery to see if it is faulty. Why can't it use the HV battery to keep the 12V battery topped up and run the electronics when the car is idle? Seems like a bad design.
  18. Sorry Alan pc is playing up meant to finish by saying That is what I did when I bought the Tyres we have been discussing on this Forum Cheers Alan
  19. Buy the same Alan its not rocket science Mate stands to sense that with all four tyres the same size and rating it has to best for driving, wear and comfort This is what I did when
  20. Advice please - Tyres for a 2005 CRV the front are 215 - 65-16 T the back 215-65-16 H. The tyre presure label on the door pillar just shows 215-65-16 T some trye outlets mention a diifences rating front and back and some don't !! I understand it's about speed, but I not likely to go over 70 in the old girl, so what do I buy the same all round or T front- and H back. Alan

  22. Hi there, I am about to hard wire my dashcam to the car via the interior fusebox. In the wiring diagram one of the wires goes to the Batt+ fuse location. I've looked in the manual and can't find any reference to this fuse in the layout diagram. Has anyone hard wired their dashcam and can help me with the location?
  23. If you don't get a offer then MMG Dog Guards sometimes have 2nd hand guards for sale or will even make one for your car. Alan
  24. Hello everyone,my mum has a little jazz 1,4 auto 2005/6. First, when replacing the brake pads do the caliper piston push in or do they need to be screwed back in. Second, clunky noise when turning left, more when turning rather than sweeping left on a curve, garage doesn't know what the problem is,but have my doubts about said garage. Thanks in advance for any replies Regards Eban

  26. Dear Insight enthusiasts, I had a Insight Mk 1 for 20 years and loved it so much I got a Japanese import at the end of last year a 2004 Mk1. Sadly my windscreen wipers stopped working during a very wet day, got back safely but now need some help. There are three places for the fuses according to my handbook. I found the one under the bonnet and the one to the right of the drivers seat. However, apparently there is supposed to be a third one, which contains the windscreen wiper fuse which is supposed to be on the passengers side in the foot well above the floor. I took the carpet back and the metal covering underneath, which had tubes going through it and some sort of metal plate - but no fuse box. PLEASE can someone send me a photo or directions of where the fuse box is? Thank you! Richard B

  28. I was thinking of buying a Civic 2015 estate but then noted the following problems. 1 Fitted with Garmin Sat nav system. Could not find if the system could still be updated, suspect not. 2 Fitted with DAB radio, not DAB+. Would need a completely new radio system to get DAB+stations (Quoted £750 approx) 3 Were not sure if the latest mobile hands free phone systems are still compatible with the system fitted to the car. Has anybody got any information on the above?
