  1. Does seem quieter than normal so possibly Easter break and school holidays taking up some time I guess.

  2. I would advise removing the hose and taking it to a local specialist hose repairer (such as Hyphose) who make hoses and pipes to order for diggers and suchlike with hydraulic systems.

    They can match your pipe and make an identical new one for not a lot of pennies

    Let us know how you get on with it

     

    p.s. if the ignition is not switched on (e.g. the fuel pump is not primed) then the fuel pressure should have dropped enough for you to remove the hose and just deal with a slight amount to mop up but at least not spraying out under pressure.

  3. If you scan the ECU to see if there are any fault codes it would be a good start as the possible causes are many.....split turbo boost hose, blocked EGR, sticking turbo vanes, blocked fuel filter.....etc

  4. Hi....welcome to the Club

     

    You should be able to get new wiper blades from Halfords and go for the option of getting them fitted so they have to do the legwork to open the packaging to offer up potentially suitable blades to your car.
    Once you find suitable ones, keep the packaging for future reference but it just comes down to length and fittings so aftermarket parts are fine in the situation

     

    Anything else specific to the Stream then I would look on eBay (link below) for listings and see what is out there

    Also, costs are far cheaper than OE parts but try to stick to the best you can get for your budget, cheaper components won't last and can be of dubious quality

  6. Hi Michael....welcome to the Club

    Sounds an interesting project and story to tell of its tragic history.
    The exhaust I can understand as open to corrosion with standing in water but the engine, if not turned over should be fine as wouldn't necessarily ingest water to the cylinders.
    I would be tempted to remove as much of the anciliary items from the top of the engine and take the plugs out and fill with WD40, etc to turn over to clean the bores.
    Obviously,  the cambelt would need changing along with water pump, etc and I reckon it will clean up nicely internally. I believe the pistons have ceramic coating and wouldn't require replacing or even cleaning.

    Let us know how you get on and photos of the condition as it would be great to see

  7. I have found that using an ABS sensor from the same model of car but another corner (has to be as long if not longer) does work - e.g. O/S/R for use in N/S/R or either one of the front wheels

    Also, has to be the same fitting but as the resistance is not too different (higher. lower) so it does function and then you just loop the cable so its tucked out of the way

  8. I had an old model (1st generation) CR-V drive past me yesterday and it was kitted out for off-road.
    Have to say it looked very impressive and judging by this video it is not all show but indeed can go offroad as well

  9. Do you have fault code(s) from the vehicle?
    If you could narrow it down to what exactly is bringing the warning light on then it may be easier to diagnose.

    Sometimes written on the invoice or if not, then ask the dealer for the codes they extracted from the engine management ECM

  10. If the tyres are worn on the inside edge then either you have excessive camber (where the wheels are pointing inwards at the top when viewed from behind or the wheels have excessive toe-in

    Either way it is advisable to get a four wheel alignment check carried out to determine the cause of the tyre wear

  11. Ah that's an even better price then!

    Clutches can wear faster when towing heavy weights (twin axle car trailer for example) but it is also the stop-start motion on the transmission which is being pushed to the limit unless the trailer is braked and then this can reduce the 'whiplash' on the transmission components

  12. I think I would be tempted to soak the nuts in WD40 or other penetrating oils over time before attempting to undo them.
    Using a wire brush in between treatments should also remove corrosion and you then stand a chance of removing them without breaking the studs and also being able to reuse the nuts
