  1. Evening All. Just a qq any one had issues with their High Pressure Fuel Pump on the 2.2 diesel engine, I have had two instances where the engine management light has come on in the last two weeks and had fault code P0087 which means low fuel pressure. Two years ago I was getting the same issue but the garage put new firmware on and it seemed to fix it, but i think that may have just been a coincidence as the issue is back. Sometimes it will stop the car other times it just goes in to limp mode. You can start the car no problem after the event, the fault stays for 4 more engine on and off, then disappears.

    It's very frustrating.

I have been recommended a diesel specialist in Portsmouth that will test the whole system so may try that. The sensor is within the pump and the whole unit is between £500 and £700 so not cheap.

    Cheers

  2. Hi Nige I had a 2010 Accord 2.2 from 90K till 257K with most only normal wear and tear items. It was mostly 130 mile daily trip up and down the A3 and was returning between 45 and 49 mpg . The front shocks go around 120K as that is a heavy lump in the front. They were recalled as the manifolds leaked but that would be in the history. But other than that no problem with mine.

  3. Hi Baz / Pee Gee, I have exactly the same problem with mine started Sunday. Does the clock work from Hondas GPS signal transmitter. Although I have deselected the Auto for GPS and still the same issue. I might have to call Honda, does anyone know the number of a helpline.

  4. Thanks for getting back to me Trevor, I hope you and yours are well. The CRV is serviced twice a year due to the miles I do, one major and one minor so believe fluid and filter should have been changed but will check with the garage. It hasn't got any worse since the last post and doesn't do it all the time just occasionally. Mind you I am due the rear box oil change, I wonder if it could be that travelling up the line.

  5. Good Morning Folks.

I'm getting a clicking noise occasionally about 3 secs after I pull away on my auto CRV. My garage can't replicate the issue but say there is some play in one of the front drive shafts. They are saying that none of the motor factors they use carry them and it would have to be direct from Honda £725.00. They did find somewhere that recon them but they are dubious that they can get the parts to recon it if they send it to them.

As the click is only minor at the moment and they cannot confirm that it is that I'm going to wait till it gets worse to confirm it is that and not a wheel bearing maybe.

My baby has just hit the 129000 mark so guess some bearings may be due to start wearing, but am surprised the driveshafts.

Anyone else had to change driveshafts or do you know if they can recon them.

    Cheers

  6. A new clutch will be good, as said before my Accord done 257K on the same clutch and was fine, so I'm surprised the clutch has been changed, was it used for towing. The heated seats may be something simple like fuses, they also only work when sat on them , in case you have just been feeling with your hand.

    Happy motoring

  7. The oil you have in the CRV is synthetic, any good quality Synthetic 0W-30 will do.

I have a 2011 CRV same as yours, mines an auto, and things to look out for in my experience are:

1: The front struts and lower arms will do about 110K then will need replacing as the 2.2 is a lump.

2: I had an issue around 90K when the car would cut out occasionally, it would start straight away after but a bit scary. This was cured with a software update.

3: Issue with exhaust manifold leaking, as these are two parts welded together. They were recalled and fixed for free if less than 100K and 6 years so it may have been done already.

Remember to change the rear diff oil at 60K intervals.

Bought mine with 60K on, now has 120K and still love it, comfy loads of room and starts first time, I do 30K a year so needed something reliable.

Had a 2.2 diesel Accord Tourer MK8 before that, had issues 1 and 3 mentioned above with that, but done 257K in that and everything was working fine with it, only got rid of that because wifey didn't want to drive anymore.

And guess what she wants to drive again now so will be looking for a Civic soon me thinks, colleague at work has just got a Civic Type R and I'm smitten.

  8. Well it's here the new Type R GT, smaller big fin, slightly larger wheels and tyres. He has to run it in for 500 miles, that must be a killer all that power there but can't use it yet.

182 mph apparently, the engine bay is full of engine and turbo, a beautiful looking machine.🤤
