  1. Hi Guys, So at the end of the road really and getting to the point of scrapping the car. It's a 2008 2.2 Diesel FRV 110k. I've had this hot start issue for a couple of years and last time the mobile mechanic that came out couldn't really give me a definitive answer. The battery used to go flat as well, put it down to short journeys. Anyway few years on I decided I had enough and started putting money in getting it looked at. The problem simply is the car starts fine early in the morning but after a good run and it's warmed it hesitates to start, needs bit of a prolonged start and gives a judder. When the start gets really bad the P0039 error pops up intermittent crank sensor. So things I've done: Replaced fuel pressure valve, crank sensor, refurbed alternator, full service, had it on a live machine for diagnostics couldn't really find anything and did a leak back on the injectors saying all 4 had gone and wanted 1k. I took it to a diesel specialist place, they took injectors out, tested them and said they were fine, suggested maybe glow plugs but the previous mechanic didn't think so. So I'm not sure what to do now? What would you guys do at this point? Really i find the car exceptionally versatile and great on fuel. Driving wise it is ok, just 1st and 2nd gear i don't find much pull but rest is fine. Thanks,
