  1. Just had the car serviced. It turns out that the battery was not holding its charge. Seems strange as it seemed to turn the engine at reasonable speed. Battery replaced. So far so good. Time will tell!
  2. Thanks for the reply. The problem seems to be getting worse. I stopped to refuel today and the car was very reluctant to fire up again. It is booked in for a service at the Honda dealers in a couple of weeks and I have warned them about the fault. I'll let you know what they find.
  3. I have a 2018 CRV SE+ 1.6 diesel. If I stall this car it is sometimes reluctant to start when warm. The engine turns over on the starter, there is some clattering but fails to fire up. The other day I refueled the car when warm which took about 5 minutes and attempting to start it again I had the same problem. It took about 5 or 6 attempts to get it to fire up. The owners manual says if the engine fails to start to wait for 1 minute before trying again but 1 minute is a long time to wait if you stall at traffic lights etc. Any ideas as to why this is happening?
  4. Update- Well, so much for the cure! The car was driven home (35 miles) then a short local run (12 miles). I made to overtake some very slow traffic and when I accelerated there was a slight hesitation and all the warning lights re-appeared as before. I managed to drive home and contacted the local Honda dealer who had carried out the supposed repair. The service manager told me that the software update carried out was the Honda UK recommended fix for the problem. Needless to say I am far from impressed. The car will now be going back for yet another attempt at a cure ( 3rd one). Confidence in Honda reliability is fading fast!
  5. The car has been examined by the local Honda dealer today. Here is the description of the work carried out, word for word on the invoice. Carry out repair:- MULTIPLE WARNING LIGHTS ON-Connected to HDS laptop - P0087 FUEL RAIL PRESSURE TOO LOW Found control of valve at high pressure fuel pump was insufficient. Updated ECM software to improve valve control and DTC setting threshold I can't say I understand most of this but I take it that the valve was not opening to provide fuel when it should and they have also widened the parameters in the software to prevent it triggering the fault code and hence the warning lights. Time will tell whether this has been successful.
  6. In September last year out of the blue multiple warning lights appeared on the dash of my Honda CRV 2.2 I-DTEC SR 2013. 43,000 miles. The car continued to drive normally. I arranged for my local dealer to collect the car and investigate as well as carrying out a full service. Diagnostics showed low fuel pressure. The fuel filter was changed and the faults erased. The car then ran normally until mid December when the same situation occurred with warning lights appearing at random in no particular order. I then arranged for the dealer to investigate the problem again. I was told they couldn't look at the car for 3 weeks! In the meantime I purchased and fitted a new battery as I suspected that the one in the car was probably the original. On starting the car after fitting the new battery everything had returned to normal. I therefor cancelled the appointment with dealer, assuming that the battery had been causing the problem. All went well until last week (3rd Feb.) when the same fault recurred. The dealer can't look at the car for 2 weeks from now. I have charged the new battery but the fault persists. Update- I have now run an OBD2 scan which came up with code P0087 fuel pressure too low. This is the same fault which the dealer found when the original problem occurred. They changed the fuel filter and erased the fault. Why this has recurred several months later is a mystery as is why it should set off so many random warning lights on the dash. The car is going to the dealer next week, so hopefully they can come up with a permanent solution. Any suggestions would be welcome.
