  1. Can anybody help with my problem. I was driving normally and the DPF warning sign cane on and the car has restricted power. The AA came out to have a look at the car and plugged in the diagnostic reader and there was no fault codes. Which he was surprised and not sure what to do next, apart to say to take it to the garage and for them to sort it out. I wasn't really that impressed with the guy. So is this going to be a costly fix and I have just spent £600 on a replacement egr cooling pipe !! Please help anyone 🙏 😢
  2. Good afternoon Dave, it seams to me to be the power steering pump may be not working as well as it should, like you say when driving normally the steering is fine. That's because the pump is working at higher speeds and pushes the steering fluid around at higher pressure, when the engine is close to idle the pump is less speed and a good pump will still be at high pressure, a poor pump the seals which will be worn can make the pump loose pressure at lower speeds. Try and move the steering wheel when the car is at a standstill in neutral increase the speed of the engine and rotate the steering wheel to the left and to the right if the problem disappears then i would say its the steering pump. plus rotating the steering fully either side there could be the possibility of an air lock in the system and by doing this will clear the air lock. If you have air getting into the system then check for leaks around the pump and joiners. i hope i have explained this well for you and i hope you get to the bottom of it. Cheers, Steve
  3. Help Please, i an i need of front brake disc for a Honda civic mk 9 2.2 i d-tec can anyone help me please. i need to know what diameter the discs are. Many thanks.
  4. Mine is called Bast£@*, when it breaks down, luckily i haven't had to call her that often lol.
  5. Hiya, Make sure that if you have start stop technology, then its wise to purchase a battery with start stop capability's. as mine gave up about 6 months ago, i went to Cox motor parts which is a Honda dealer, and they give sound advice on which battery to go for. Hope this helps.
  6. Ok that's brilliant, let me know what they are like as I'm thinking about the rear floor mats and possibly the boot, if its cheaper than genuine Honda.
  7. Good morning ljhhh, I bought mine from cox motor parts, which supply's genuine Honda parts, for my civic it was £25 per mat, quick delivery too. You can also look on ebay for mats, consider good second hand ones from car dismantlers its worth i looking at.😀
  8. When i inquired about having a re-mapp, they asked what the mileage was and if i was on the original clutch, as you mentioned the extra power will make the clutch slip. As my Civic has done 135000 miles and on the original clutch so i took their advice and i had the lot changed by Honda. The only thing i must mention is that the EGR Valve gasket must be in good order as mine is leaking a little as i can smell a wiff of fumes coming into the car when at a standstill, so the next work to be done shortly.
  9. Just had my 2.2 i de-tec Honda civic re- mapped to stage 2. OMG what a difference. My Civic now goes like a bat out of hell got to hold on tight. plus MPG is so much better when driving sensibly, getting around 55/58 MPG, and also its alot smoother and responsive. has any one else had a re-map done, and with what results. Re-map was carried out by Celtic Tuning in Newquay Cornwall.
  10. hello, Pete, could be the problem be sticky buttons on the radio, causing untouched selection
  11. good morning b4u2, sorry for a late response. Yes i had it fixed, at the price stated, so nice and cold now, not that i need cold air blowing through at the moment when the temp outside is cold, but it certainly helps and preventing demisting the windows , so thumbs up, also at the Honda garage (Rowes Honda Hayle) they did a full health check of the car and flag up a couple of issues, not serious, and no pressure to get it fixed by them, Handy i managed to fix it myself, it was the drop links on the front which was getting a bit worn.
  12. Yes i say the same as b4u2 cox motor parts, i have bought Honda parts there often. good fast service.
  13. Strange, normally there are spade terminals and they just pull off, but if they are corroded like you say than a little bit of WD40 to help removal, but you can cut the wires and put new spade terminals of and i think you can get from any motor factors.
  14. Many thanks for your reply, I think i will have to bite the bullet on this one, as where i live which is very rural, a stones throw from Lands End, my local garage don't have air con facility's. So Honda it is, i did contact Honda again to see if they can reduce the price, and they can offer a non genuine condenser for the sum of £500. so, its a little better. So its booked in on the 30th Sept.
  15. Hello to all, My Civic mk9 2.2 idtec condenser is leaking and my local Honda garage was going to charge me £700 to replace which i think is asking too much. Just thinking how easy to replace it myself, just needs re gassing afterwards, i have basic mechanical skills but never had to do this sort of work. any reply's will be very grateful.
  16. Good morning, I had to replace mine a year ago, its very simple, here is the link which i followed from you tube. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=door+mirror+replacement+honda+civic+mk+ix+9+uk The mirror is only clipped in and a wide plastic tool like a scraper will work. just be careful of the wires attached, if your mirrors are heated.
  17. Hi there have you tried ebay , there you can find a load of car manuals
  18. I hope this owners club will help me out with a few issues i have with my civic, as the you tube site is mainly based in the states!!
