Garytreez Posted July 10, 2022 Share Posted July 10, 2022 New here. I have recently got a 2.2 idtec 2013 with 80k miles and it's great. I noticed yesterday that the engine whines on revving up and whines when revving down. No whine on idle. Checked it on the drive whilst static so no gearbox or drive train issues. I read somewhere that this is normal ??!! If Not normal then maybe alternator bearings ?? Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I would eliminate other areas by disconnecting the belt and running the engine without it to see if the noise is still there. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
