Barry5080 Posted October 23 Posted October 23 Hi folks. I drive motorway miles everyday, Edinburgh to Glasgow. I have eco on all the time and drive at 60 miles an hour. I have a 64 plate 2ltr automatic petrol. This guzzles fuel like it's going out of fashion. Is there anything that can help with consumption.
Scoobs Posted October 27 Posted October 27 If it's an automatic, change the ATF. Make sure you get the right amount in - it makes quite a difference. Find some Honda ATF-DW1 for the job.
TheFridge Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Mine will do about 38-40 on a decent run where I can sit at 60, but the general commute, 20 miles each way with a bit of queueing, roundabouts, etc, sees it drop to 34-35. They are not an economical car when it comes to fuel consumption, the box is poorly matched to the engine in my view and I often think it's struggling. I can forgive it though as in four and a half years and 56k (now sitting at 104k) of ownership it's cost me nothing but routine servicing and consumables. You don't say what mpg you are seeing though; dependent on what you had before your expectations may need managing!
