Peter Shore Posted January 7 Posted January 7 (edited) 2016 Honda CRV 1.6 dtec 9 speed auto EX. My car had been left at the Meet & Greet parking at East Mids airport for 2 weeks. On collection yesterday they said the car battery was flat. The very helpful meet & greet team drove me up to the parking area to try starting it myself. When i tried to start the car, the brake pedal wouldnt push down as if it was locked/disabled and while trying to press the pedal down along with the engine Start button, nothing appeared to light up on the dash board. I tried this a few times and not sure what i did but out of the blue it suddenly lit up the dashboard and started and i might add, plenty of power in the battery as it didnt sound like a laboured start. I gave it a couple of minutes ticking over, selected drive and everything just seemed to work as normal, so i drove home. Is there any explanation for what happened to the Meet & Greet team and myself when initially trying to start it? The car is running back as normal today btw. Battery and terminals are checked and sound. Ive asked Honda service manager and they’ve no idea what happened. Edited January 7 by Peter Shore
Trevor Posted January 10 Posted January 10 That is certainly an odd one as I would have said the battery was completely flat with those symptoms However, it may be a case of locking and unlocking the vehicle a couple of times as it sounds like it had gone into sleep mode (or rather a deep sleep) with the time it was sat there. Keep an eye on it and do let us know if you find out any information or it occurs in the future
