Likely to require a ‘black box’ replacement... this was a common issue and could be in region of £400 for new. A specialist might be able to repair old unit.

Old post I know but the Indicator Relay replacement is a job you can do yourself for not much more than about £15, a decent days DIY labour, a few scraped knuckles and pulled neck muscles. Check the comments in this YT video:-
