BigAl Posted August 3, 2020 Posted August 3, 2020 Hi. I a new member. Just changed my wife's great but ageing 2.0 Civic Sport for a 2006 Jazz which has the N/S door mirror hanging off. The stumpy bit is still attached to the door by 3 10mm nuts but the mirror housing itself has some broken fragments of plastic round the bottom, held in with 3 small screws, and the whole lot appears to have been held together with a large amount of black caulk. I can't see any pictures on line of what it should look like to start a repair so wonder if anyone can help please. Otherwise I'll have to dismantle the O/S mirror to see what is inside it and I 'd prefer not to have to do that in case it is fragile and goes the same way as the other one. Thanks.
Trevor Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 I think in this situation it may be better to fit a secondhand mirror assembly as I'm not sure a repair will hold successfully. A secondhand mirror shouldn't be too expensive and is easy enough to fit
