John Nash Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 Hi Guys (and Ladies) I’ve got a 65 plate Jazz EX and yesterday the audio touch screen wouldn’t get past the Honda logo on the boot screen. The weather lately has been really wet but I’ve not had any warning lights come up. As the original battery is 5 years old now I popped into my local dealer to see if I needed a new battery but they wanted to charge me £150 for a diagnostic check which I feel is exorbitant. A new battery will also cost £125. today, it seems to have booted up normally but the channels on my DAB radio are not listed and initially the clock was the wrong time. so my question is.... firstly, Is this normal behaviour for a battery which may need changing ? secondly, is there likely to be some else going on instead ? Thanking you in advance John
Trevor Posted December 24, 2020 Posted December 24, 2020 Hi John.....welcome to the Forum I would personally go to somewhere like Halfords and they can test the battery for you. If it fails a heavy discharge test then you can replace it at a far more reasonable cost while you're there (they can change it for you at a small cost) and should be able to retain the stored memories.
