Posted October 13, 20232 yr I've recently purchased a 2007 2.0 EX petrol, which has a dirty lump of sponge stuck inside the fuel flap (photo attached). Is this standard, or has a previous owner added this for some reason? It's not something I've had on any other car I've owned.
October 14, 20232 yr Hi Dan this is not something I have heard of before , maybe its the previous owners idea to soak up condensation inside the Fuel Flap. My 2008 hasn't got anything like this.
October 15, 20232 yr no sponge in my CRV but I have used bits of sponge in other cars in the past to stop a flap tapping and sometimes to wipe up round filler pipe... bit sad really must get out more.... Warden !!!!
October 19, 20232 yr Had a word with my Son who is a Car Mechanic He agrees there is no reason for the lump of Sponge in the Petrol Flap
