Roof Rack too short, boot!

Hi,

 

I have just bought my car today 2017 version. 

 

I have roof rails but they are too far back for my 480L roof box to fit. 

 

I want to think about fitting bars without the rails instead so I can push forwards 20cm to the normal points. 

 

Has anyone done this? May sound silly but the boxes Are expensive.

 

I am an occasional roofbox person so need a cheap solution to the box as it hase with a 50cm overhang which stops the boot opening!
