    Thanks Trevor. I hope you're right, but I found a website (collegehillshonda),USA, which shows the complete installation of the spolier and brake light. The cover plate has lugs and is fixed by screws to the spoiler. The only way to access the screws is to remove the spoiler from the tailgate. I have carefully tried to prise off the cover plate but gave up as I didn't want to risk damaging it.
