Rear Wheel Alignment FRV
Hi Wuzhee, I have fitted replacement upper arms and adjusted them. On checking rear wheel toe, the nearside was showing it was toeing in. Worked out the 10 point nut has nothing to do with toe, its adjusted by slackening locking nut, item 1, then adjusting via item 2. Item 3 is an offset washer and fixed plate, by turning item 2 the offset washers contact with fixed plate 'moves' the arm. I setup a DTI and adjusting item 2 by approx 10minutes (on a clock face) I achieved 0.2mm change to the toe, where I was measuring it. I rechecked both rear wheel toe's and are now at a setting more in keeping where it should be, i.e. slight toe-in. For info turning item 2, near side arm, makes the wheel toe more in an outward direction measuring from the center point of the wheel facing forward and measuring off tyre wall. Im aware tyre walls are inconsistent in their shape however as the wheel was locked and the DTI remained fixed then a true reading was achieved. Thanks to everyone for their assistance to me.

Rear Wheel Alignment FRV
To clarify..... there is a 10 point nut on the rear lower arm, this provides adjustment for the rear Toe. Ive found the specs and on one occasion , during 4 wheel alignment it was adjusted. Can anyone provide any further information about the process, socket size etc. Direction of nut rotation vs toe in or out as I hope to be able to make this adjustment myself. Most other Honda's appear to have 3 bolts securing said arm. Thanks

Rear Wheel Alignment FRV
Hi, my vehicle is suffering rear inner edge tyre wear. I am aware there is some adjustment that can be made on the lower arms, my question is - is there any adjustment that can be made to rear wheel alignment. I believe that the 'adjustment ' nut impacts on the rear camber and is adjustable for each wheel. Anyone can provide some more information on the subject or point me in the right direction ? My vehicle has clocked up 145k miles and has always been a bit heavy on rear tyres, even after 4 wheel alignment at a reputable garage chain, in fact on that occasion an adjustment was made but insufficient adjustment to be within tolerance. The cars history is known and no accident damage that could account for my problem. BTW the car drives fine and handles well in any weather, its just I fancy having a go at getting it to be more gentle on tyres. Thanks Chris.

Aftermarket radio fitting
Just read this , my frv radio is rubbish, I've read somewhere that the earth to the aerial is very poor on frv. However... I've noticed on a Chinese selling express site there offering bezels that allow the fitting of a double din radio into the opening in the dash, when I started looking honda did them for around £150 ! However years on and that Chinese site sells something for a few quid. I haven't bought one or know anyone who has but a few quid is worth a bet if it solved it for you. I did read somewhere ( maybe here) an easier removal process for the radio rather than prolonged strip out required. Hope that helps. Chris

Reverse parking sensor constant tone
Hi all my 2009 Frv reversing unit failed so I bought a cheap no make system, drilled out existing sensors and fitted new sensors and wires it in, a wire to reversing light and wires to the beeper ( fixed next to existing sounder). I think I got the 'kit' for under £15.00 and apart from a little faffing around its been working for the last few years. I didn't have the equipment to check the original control unit or each individual ultrasonic sensor so it seemed to logical cheap fix.

Front Tyre Wear
Hi, front wheel drive vehicles are a bit heavy on tyre wear coupled with drivers style and quality of tyres. I think I have resolved my problem which I am putting down to bottom ball joints. Not too bad of a job with right tools. Good luck with your particular issue, if its wear on both outer edges then over inflate the tyres a bit !, ( at your own risk), this alters road contact area & handling.

Front Tyre Wear
UPDATE 2. I had problems separating ball joint from the arm, I cut the arm where it located into the ball joint threaded section allowing easy separating. I also used a bit of scaffold pole to drive the ball joints back in as access using my equipment was limited from above I.e the hub mountings got in the way of the c clamp insertion tool. Just checked the tracking, spot on though the steering wheel is not completely central, but that's just a case of equal turns on both track rod ends to bring it back where it should be. That's it . Finished. Car has 140k its the 1.8 petrol engine UK spec.

Front Tyre Wear
UPDATE 1. removed lower arms and commented to replace bushes using 'C' clamp type tool. This removed the large flat bush but I could not press a replacement in... so got two new lower arms. Pressed out the lower ball joints, quite hard work, the hardest breaking the joint between the ball joint and lower arm, tried all sorts of techniques ( not heat), pick axe worked best for me. So arms, ball joints, link arms new pads ( serviced slide pins) and re -assemble. Note- put the lower arms in first making sure the tie bars are in the correct upward position. Getting the ball joint into lower arm was fiddly as the joint is tight when new. Test drive - laden vehicle at various speeds - all good, quiet over minor pot holes, like new! Sone tips I used. There's no need to remove wheel hub ( danger of damaging ABS sensor) , detach abs wire from outer wheel hub. Detach hub from drive shaft and strut, rorate 180 degrees loose blot one hole of hub back onto strut and support the, now facing downward, disc on axel stands. This allows you to wind the pressure on the C clamp extractor tool to press the ball joint out and back in again. Don't put anything on slider pins that will attack the rubber dust boots and don't put to much lube on the pins.

Front Tyre Wear
Hi, nothings occurred to upset the tracking. Starting to suspect tyre roll on corners. Will have a poke around in daylight. But thank for the input.

Front Tyre Wear
HI everyone, I have a 1.8 Frv with 140k on clock, family owned from new. Very recently I can see inner tyre wear on both front tyres inner edges. Car drives ok and no unusual sounds when on steering. I'm away on holiday ATM so can't talk a proper look, or provide any pics. Recent Mot pass no advisors. Has anyone else come across this issue, I'm suspecting some kind if suspension issue. Thanks. Chris
