  1. Hi all again. I have this annoying shudder when starting off from stopped. It only lasts a second, then is gone, until your taking off from being stopped again. The car runs perfectly at all speeds in every other way. If it were a manual car, my first guess would be to think it would be the clutch, or as its a 4 X 4 prop bearings. May be significant, but it only does this after it has been running at least a few minutes, perfect when stone cold, no shudder/judder. I am going to try and discount the gearbox, by having a fluid and filter change. If that has muck in it from 86000 miles of use, (no evidence the fluid has ever been changed) that might mess around with the oil pressure and influence the take off. I will report here again once that has been done. Is there any way I can electrically disable the 4 x 4 for testing to see if its that, which is making the shudder? If anyone has had the same type of problem, please let me know what happened, and how you fixed it. Also if you have any ideas please let me know. Anyway, thanks for reading this, and any help would be greatly appreciated. Eddie
  2. Thanks for your post Trevor. Yes I think your right, I will go ahead and do the oil and filter change. That also gives me the chance to see what crud is in the box. I will report back once done.
  3. Hi and thanks for replying. Now the waiting game starts waiting for others.

  5. Hello all. l was just wondering if anyone has had the same problem with their Honda car? The automatic box works well apart from this juddering when starting from stationary. It is the same in reverse as it is going forward. Not apparent at all when Stone Cold, gets worse as the car gets hotter. So l think that precludes things like engine mounts, or box mounts. I think it needs a filter and fluid change. What do you think, am I right, or is there something more likely that you know of with the benefit of Honda experience? Please let me know, any help would be gratefully accepted.
  6. Hi, l have just joined this club, because of my very recent purchase of an HR-V 1.6 automatic 2002. 3 door. I live in Stoke On Trent, am in my late 60s,s and am disabled, but still able to drive, which I still enjoy. If I say so myself I was a good amateur mechanic, but alas the mind is still willing, but the body is no longer able to juggle the spanners, and to be truthful I do miss it. I have never owned a Honda before, but can say I am amazed at how well this car drives, being smooth, and very responsive for a 22-year-old. So hello all, I will be asking some questions, but I also very much hope I may be able to help others if they get stuck.
