Honda e / Honda e:Ny1

Discuss the new Honda e and e:Ny1 electric car models

  1. Started by Yerman,

If you have stone chips occurring on your ENy:1 Ebay have an OES/Manufacturer selling all 4 mudflaps for £39 identical, (www.ebay.co.uk/itm/266409322829) A little more affordable than Honda's £100+ Stops the sills from stone chips and the ingress of dirt on the door shuts as the seals at the bottom of the doors don't appear to prevent the ingress of water. It doesn't seem to have any effect on mileage either which someone thought might be the reason EV's don't have them (Drag)

Hi. I have the advance model with 2k on the clock. I am getting moisture on the glass roof and windows on the inside. Sometimes it forms water droplets but they have not dropped onto the seats yet. I have taken it back to the dealer and they said there is nothing wrong. Fogging also happens when driving. My concern is that this moisture will be going into the fabric etc and could eventually cause a musty smell or mould. Has anybody else had any issues. Thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

New issue just started, why would the Non-Charge schedule revert to off following use of the vehicle? setting saved but on return it's "OFF", It's worked fine for the last month regarding home charging but now I have to save info after each trip.

I have recently purchased my NY1 (September 2024) with an expectation of perhaps 200-210 miles on full charge and approx 160 on 80% which whilst less that advertised would be acceptable. The reality is 80% charge delivers around 130-140 (Climate control off and daytime driving) what are your experiences and is there anything you can suggest to help, or has anyone complained officially if they are having the same issue.

Another anomaly with the home charging schedule, apart from it switching it from ON to OFF by itself following any trip. It has great difficulty in finding my home address, we are on a private road at the end of an adopted (council) road and the satnav will not go past the end of the adopted one. Maybe this is why I had to enter the coordinates over 6 times to get the satnav to accept it, still it won't navigate to home it ends 100mtrs away. There appears to be many gremlins in the Honda Software/Firmware and some extent Hardware judging by reports on various forums. Apparently, the Tech at Honda in Japan are Quote "On It". Hhhmm

Always charge your vehicle to 100% as instructed in the owners manual. Set Non charging schedule timings to Home position, should you live in a new property and it is unlisted on navigation screen, use coordinates I.e, Lat & Long in Degrees, minutes & seconds. This works and your schedule won't switch off as it cannot find it's" Home"

Have you been presented with the Red Warning icons on the dash 1st thing after power on? I have twice and would seem the computing side of things may be checking the state of charge of the running battery (12v one under bonnet) just a little too soon. The battery state of charge drops overnight or if left for some time as it carries out numerous checks, Alarm, readiness to charge Etc, Etc. The battery does receive charge from the main battery quite quickly upon "Power on", sometimes from as low as 11.4vs up to 14vs in seconds, this I noticed stops the warning appearing. Honda aware of this small anomaly. If it remains "ON" obviously you have issues. Contact…

  8. Started by Yerman,

Here's me answering other people's issues Etc. and I have no idea why my Non-Charge schedule switches from "On to Off" following a charge at home, not always but often. If the car is plugged in to charge but not doing as it's using the schedule, why would it switch to off after the charge? if I demand charge before the schedule should allow charging, say 2 hours or so before midnight which is when it starts to utilise the cheap rate, why would this cancel the schedule and not just overwrite it for the extra. I must check the schedule everytime I plug in as it's impossible to know if it will charge. Honda informed but nothing has come back from them yet. Anyone else e…

Is anyone heard about gear oil change and top-up for the ENY:1??? I'm seeing posts on the internet that says it needs to be changed in intervals... One post says "Actually, it should be changed immediately after car purchase, as it contains only transportation oil. The oil specified in the manual is sold only in China. We are using 75W-90 GL-5 oil, the amount is 1.3 liters. So far, I have seen people use oil from the following manufacturers: Rowe, Motul Gear 300 LS, and Yacco. I can't tell anything about others, but I think if the parameters are the same, it should be okay. 75W-90 GL-5 and only 100% synthetic." I thought this ev was oil…

I have friends who have E Vs with a heat pump, it does a lot better than my E NY1, but if you look a the extra cost involved at point of purchase ie £900.00 its more cost effective to pay for the extra electricity, if you can than if you change at home. If you have your car on PCP over three years which most people do you have £300.00 pounds of electricity to start with.

  11. I Just recently joined the forum as I am hopefully getting my e:Ny1 delivered in around a week or so. It doesn't look like we have many 'E' owners here or are most 'lurkers' lol. Shout up and be counted, add a couple of pics of your ride for us all to look at! 🙂

I bought this car in March 2024 new. I was told that it would lose miles if I used the aircon. I was not told that in Winter it would lose many many miles Are you experiencing the same? 250 published miles went down to 160 miles on full charge. I have spoken to Honda and they say there is nothing wrong with the car.!! My point is that this car is not fit for purpose Does anyone have any comments? I am waiting for the Motor Omdudsman to respond Regards Philip

Hi, I picked up my eny1 2 weeks ago and just tried to use the android auto. It keeps saying it doesn't recognise my phone as a device. I've tried multiple cables to no avail. I don't yet have the app set up as Honda never activated the telematics (don't get me started on the dealership), but that's booked in for Thursday so maybe I'll have more luck with connecting when I can access the app. But failing that does anyone have any ideas on why it won't work?! Samsung 23 ultra btw. Thanks

I have had and EON 7kw home charger fitted by EON. It will only charge the car at about 2.5Kw. EON says the charger is OK and my Honda dealer says the same thing about the car. Any suggestions.

Reading about other people's issues with vehicles, particularly EV's on the internet sites, many are giving advice on how to do this. Believe me it is not something you really want to do. For example, after six months of issues, the burden of proof shifts to you—you must prove that the fault was present at the time of purchase. Not all faults present themselves within this time frame and you will still be charged for usage, mileage and damage, however small this may be! depreciation, Etc. Etc. Best to try and sort out your complaints under the manufacturer's warranty. Keep a journal of all that crops up, dates, places, pictures of visual warnings displayed …

Just 319 miles from new, on its 4th charge and the foot brake is so spongey, I can push it to the floor with my hand. Unfortunate, I hear you say but take it to the dealer to repair. That is the plan, but who pays for shipping the car from one island to the other where the dealers premises is? So far, no one has an answer. We traded in a Ford economy sport after 4 years of trouble free motoring, on island and touring the UK because it was no longer covered by warantee and repairs by the natives would be expensive and done badly. Should have bought a petrol banger it seems and not trusted a superior brand name. I bought a prelude many years ag…

  19. Started by JohnK,

Before buying our e:Ny1 we were reading up on charging electric cars in a manner that looks after the battery. We had the impression that maybe 80% is a good maximum charge as the more the charge towards 100% the more heat is created and heat can reduce the longevity of your battery. I wrote to Honda about this and did not get a clear reply. Maybe I worded my enquiry in a manner that confused them. When I charge it is mainly from home on a 7 KWh charger. For simplicity I would like to have the confidence to plug it in and let it charge to 100% whenever possible. Does anyone out there have any good advice for me please

  20. Hi. I am planning a long trip on my new eNY:1 and have read multiple owners in the past mentioning a potential fault in the battery when charging their car on a Tesla Supercharger. They claim their car would not charge again on fast chargers, and just slow ones. Has anyone experienced this? I got my car two months ago, so I am not sure if this issue has been resolved on a recent firmware update for example. Ideally if I can use Tesla Superchargers I would as they are considerable cheaper than other public fast chargers in Europe. Thanks for any insights!

Hi, I have just picked up my eny1 car and the non charging schedule screen is set at 11:30 until 5:30 and is in ON position, Does That mean my car will not change between those times, ?? Should it be in thr off position to allow for the cheaper charging rates, I had it plugged in last night but no charging took place, Thanks for any help, Cheers Mick
