Josh
Hi. I am planning a long trip on my new eNY:1 and have read multiple owners in the past mentioning a potential fault in the battery when charging their car on a Tesla Supercharger. They claim their car would not charge again on fast chargers, and just slow ones. Has anyone experienced this? I got my car two months ago, so I am not sure if this issue has been resolved on a recent firmware update for example. Ideally if I can use Tesla Superchargers I would as they are considerable cheaper than other public fast chargers in Europe. Thanks for any insights! Ron1452
Hi Josh, When I was test driving the e:Ny1 at my dealership I managed to use a Tesla supercharger at Eurocentral in Scotland when the car first came out October 2023. My e:Ny1 was delivered mid January 2024 and I have heard of no charging issues on the demonstrator. Setuo the tesla app for non tesla vehicles and it will list supercharges for non tesla. When i used the Tesla supercharger in October there was only 4 sites available in Scotland, now around 9 sites available in Scotland. MB-J
HI Josh, I picked up my E:NY1 a couple of months ago and soon discovered that Tesla chargers are far cheaper than most other chargers and I was keen to use them, unfortunately this does not have a happy ending....I recently had the issue you mentioned. I charged successfully a couple times at Tesla Eurocentral, then i charged at Tesla in Gretna .... after i stopped the charge the car gave two warning icons (orange car with exclamation mark in the middle) and it shutdown the CCS DC charging port limiting me to using the AC port. I took the car to my dealership, on the direction of Honda they cleared the warnings (re-enabling the CCS port) and gave me an extract from the user manual stating that only "K" rated fast chargers are compatible with the car (page 330 of the owners guide) and also that Tesla superchargers are not recommended A lot of the Fast/Super chargers being installed today are "L" rated so these are not compatible with the E:NY1, the K/L identification should be on the handle of the charging cable. Current i am trying to establish how i can easily determine what fast chargers are "K" and what are "L" as no App that I have checked so far lists this information. I have also asked the dealership to check with Honda and confirm if the "Fast Charging Stations" listed on the cars navigation are all compatible. Hope this helps Regards Mike
