Yes dealers will ignore this and leave it up to the owner to request it. Does your CRV have electric or hydraulic power steering? Ours (2011) is electric.
Sorry, I'm not sure if a 2008 model has that feature. Ours is a 2011, so a post facelift.
Perhaps it wasn't an option on earlier mark 3's and was added to later models after customer feedback.
We need someone with an early gen 3 to help! 👍
I'm not sure if pre face-lift has the same brightness adjuster (in the bottom of the speedometer). I have just tried adjusting the panel brightness and even on the dimmest setting the steering wheel buttons are still lit. Perhaps your dealer is your only option.
I'm wondering if it's connected to the instrument brightness. Perhaps turning it up would help. I will try mine later (at the moment it's a bright sunny morning here and our driveway gets sun all day).
Glad to hear the oil change has helped. It certainly helped with mine. The molyslip will help too and as Trevor says take the first to second change a bit slower.
Hi, yes our CRV is four wheel drive. I hadn't thought about that before but it might well explain the notchy shift. Our other car (Jazz) has a very smooth shift in comparison with its original fluid. Both are similar age and almost identical miles.
Hello. I had an issue with notchy gear changes on my 3rd gen CRV. Changing the gearbox oil did help, but what I found made the most difference was having the clutch fluid renewed.
