  1. sensor torqued down to correct spec. Has anyone experienced problems with cheap aftermarket sensors? Honda say they have all sorts of problems with aftermarket sensors and recommend only Honda parts are used ( but they would say that) I am about to buy the honda knock sensor for £150 to see if it fixes it Has anyone else had sensor problems that get fixed when genuine parts fitted?
  2. I have a 2006 CRV petrol exec manual with 117,000 miles which has been showing the engine management light after about 20 mins of driving. Fault code is always the knock sensor. I erase the fault with OBD and the light goes out but always comes back on again sometimes after a day and sometimes after 10 mins!! The car is not "pinking" and seems to be running perfectly with no odd engine noises at all even when listened to with a stethoscope. I tried new plugs just in case but didnt fix it. I have so far fitted 2 new aftermarket knock sensors and they fix it for a while but the fault code soon returns. I have even tried disconnecting the sensor but it still lights the engine management light after 20 mins or so. Has anyone else had this problem with aftermarket sensors and if I fit the genuine Honda knock sensor will it fix it? Your thoughts would be appreciated as I have run out of ideas!
  3. Thanks Trevor, rather weirdly it has now "settled down" and without doing anything it all seems back to normal???? Its almost like it needed time to bed in and get voltages back to normal etc but it all works as it should after a couple of days
  4. I left the lights on on my 2006 CRV petrol manual and flattened the battery. I took the battery out and recharged it. On reconnecting the battery the alarm went off almost continuously but didnt go off when I plipped the key fob and in fact nothing seemed to turn the alarm off, manual locking and unlocking doors, operating central locking manually or by key fob etc and the alarm carried on going for 20 mins or so. I could start and drive the car so the immobiliser wasnt acting. The alarm would then stop and restart every 10 mins or so untill I disconnected the battery. on reconnecting the alarm would go off at random times even whilst driving?? It has settled down a bit now and stays off most off the time until I lock the car then 10 seconds later the alarm sound for 15 seconds then goes off and stays off.. Any ideas anyone as to how to fix that????? Any ideas as to exactly where the siren is mounted? sounds like it is in the roof at the back or side panel of the boot but does anyone know exactly where it is as I might just disable it Any thoughts gratefully accepted
