Fitting rubber car mats in Civic e-Hev

Has anyone fitted after market (rubber) car mats in the Hybrid powered (2022) Civic please?

 

If so, was it necessary to buy a set of clips & cut into the existing carpet as appears to be the case with earlier models. I ask because there look like (perhaps spring loaded) fittings but, if that is what they are, I've not been able to access/release them.
