Regen Braking and Drive Modes

Does the level of regen change with drive mode?  I realise it can be set manually in 'Sport', but early experience suggests there is otherwise no difference in the level of regen. I understand the throttle becomes less sensitive-responsive in moving from sport-normal-econ.  Is that the only difference in the modes?

I understand that in 'Econ' the aircon is less active to save energy.
