Davey Fish Posted Friday at 12:16 PM Posted Friday at 12:16 PM I have recently purchased my NY1 (September 2024) with an expectation of perhaps 200-210 miles on full charge and approx 160 on 80% which whilst less that advertised would be acceptable. The reality is 80% charge delivers around 130-140 (Climate control off and daytime driving) what are your experiences and is there anything you can suggest to help, or has anyone complained officially if they are having the same issue.
Cav65 Posted Friday at 07:32 PM Posted Friday at 07:32 PM I got my eny1 in September also and always charge at home between midnight and 5 am to obtain the low rate. I usually charge to 85% and car shows about 140 miles. Due to the colder weather I upped it to 90% but on frosty cold mornings it shows as little as 120 miles of range. Strangely despite having air con, heated seats etc on I can drive for example 30 miles and the range only shows a drop of about 20 miles. In short I’ve concluded that the figures displayed on the dashboard are so erratic that that I don’t trust them and the figures you are getting are much better than I’m achieving.
Davey Fish Posted Friday at 09:08 PM Author Posted Friday at 09:08 PM That is all wrong though much worse than they advertise
Yerman Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Hi, why are you only charging to 80%? Honda on P.563 of manual states; "To help extend the lifespan of the battery, it is recommended that you fully charge the battery each time prior to driving." I do hope you have switched off the phone charging pad, high energy user, in use or not. I charge to 100% as instructed, Honda apparently can tell how you charge, when you charge and where. I certainly obtain 180-195 (Last week in snow) that's with cabin heat on around 22 degrees, occasional seated heats and steering wheel heat.
Davey Fish Posted 17 hours ago Author Posted 17 hours ago Thank you for that advice I will charge to 100% if that’s the recommended charging I will also find out how to turn off the phone charger as I don’t use it anyway. Thank you let’s try it
Cav65 Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago That’s another thing I wasn’t aware of (charging to 100%). Everything I’ve read online and in forums advises against doing so on a regular basis as it can degrade the battery. However if Honda are advising charging to 100% I will start following their guidance.
