Walk away auto lock function not working

My Eny1 is 18 months old and done 4300 miles

The Honda on line brochure clearly states that when the right hand boot button is pressed the boot will close when you walk away and lock the boot and car The boot closes and locks but there car stays unlocked

The Honda garage tell me that only the boot should lock and Honda Tech support confirm this 

HELP Does anyone else have this problem?
