  5. Hi, I recently changed my Honda civic 2020 battery and after some hours my Amber warning light pops up so I took it to a battery specialist to make sure the battery was a good fit and all seemed fine so I was then advised to remove battery connections for 10 minutes so it restart everything things but Amber warning light still pops up at random but car seems to drive pretty well and I’m worried whenever light comes on

  9. More than likely this is the DPF regenerating and while that is active then possibly it will not allow the service reset to occur at the same time?
  10. wasn't sure what the arrows surrounding the spanner meant so looked it up: AI Overview The image displays an icon representing a wrench encircled by two arrows in a cyclical motion This icon typically symbolizes: Settings or Options: The wrench often denotes tools or configurations, and the arrows can imply a refresh or update of these settings. System Maintenance or Repair: It can indicate an ongoing process related to system checks, repairs, or optimizations. Automatic Updates or Synchronization: The circular arrows suggest a recurring or automatic process, potentially related to software updates or data synchronization. Loading or Processing: In some contexts, it can signify that a system is busy processing or loading information, particularly when related to system configurations or background tasks
  11. Trust you put the problem into good old Youtube?? There is bit on there about restting the service indicator
  12. Hi all, My car used to display an orange spanner symbol in the centre part of the Speedo clock when it needed a service. After servicing the car I could always reset the counter. But recently I notice that the service counter is blank (3 dashes) and doesn't appear to be counting anymore. Is there a way of re-activating it as I'm concerned it also has a link to the DPF regen system?
  13. I am a new member and wanted to ask if anyone would like to buy the above?

  16. Honda vehicles are widely regarded as reliable and dependable cars, known for their longevity and solid build quality. While not always the most exciting to drive, they are generally considered a safe and practical choice, especially for those prioritizing dependability and low maintenance. Here's a more detailed look at Honda's reputation: Reliability: Honda consistently ranks high in reliability surveys and has a strong reputation for producing vehicles that last a long time with minimal issues. What Car? reports that Honda's latest models and older models (like the 2012-2018 CR-V and 2012-2017 Civic) are highly rated for reliability. The brand experiences a low fault rate, with the main areas of concern being the 12-volt battery and non-engine electrics. Honda typically covers the cost of repairs in a large percentage of cases, and many cars are back on the road quickly. Honda's commitment to quality control in manufacturing contributes to its reliability. Engine Performance: Honda is known for its efficient and reliable engine technology, including their hybrid powertrains. The e:HEV powertrain in the CR-V, for example, is a testament to their focus on optimizing engine performance, fuel economy, and longevity. Considerations: While generally reliable, some specific models or years might have reported issues. Some older Honda models might have issues with the 1.5L engine or head gasket failure. In terms of driver assistance features, some basic trims might lack advanced safety systems like adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking. Overall: Honda cars generally offer a good balance of reliability, practicality, and fuel efficiency, making them a popular choice for many drivers. While they might not always be the most exciting or feature-rich vehicles on the market, their reputation for dependability and longevity is well-deserved.

  18. Hi, I am looking for the picnic table that came with the first generation crv up until the year 2006. If anyone has one to giveaway or sell cheap please message me as soon as possible
  19. I purchased a 2010 Si last year and like the other posts on here found the car to be solid and well built, did have a slight noise from the rear parcel shelf and thought it was not fitting correctly ,turns out the bracket that the passenger seat fits in to needed some lubrication , did this and no more rear noise. Doors and windows well solid and the overall view from the driver seat is excellent due to the large windscreen. I wish I had gone EX for all the extra bits and the sunroofs. Personally I like the curved body on the Jazz it does give more headroom and space inside, oh I am 6'3 and have plenty of leg room.
  20. 2010 Si model - 1.4 petrol - Around town also manage to achieve between 45 -48 mpg , even with air con on still manage low 40's but the car was recently serviced a few months back..
  21. Glad you mentioned this my 2010 has a few rust bubbles around that area so possible common fault. Located a hole inside the petrol cap and my garage sprayed anti rust inhibitor in there and sealed up the hole with some bonding..I am also looking at how to remove these
  22. Hi to all members new and old. Thought it was time to sign up to this forum being a Honda owner for many years. Anyway a little bit on me First Honda - 1997 CRV - 2.0l stick shift ( hooked on Honda's after that) Prelude 2.0l - 2001 Various CRV's - 2005 onwards Various Civic's - 2004 onwards inc a Type R 2009 HRV - 2003 Accord 2007 and 2009 Currently running a Jazz 1.4 Si model 2010 - Bought in Sep last year with 91k on , one previous owner , FSH . Initially as a stop gap car when my previous one had to go back to finance company , but you know what love this little car , cheap to fuel and cheap to run , carried four adults with luggage for weekends away. Recently got the air con gassed and still returns around 45+ mpg when running around town with it full on. Just serviced it , and sailed through it's MOT with 2 advisories - bulbs for licence plate and slight blow on exhaust. So to date I have spent £20 on new wipers and £40 on air con. Never had such low cost running vehicle. Work to do: Replace front pipe on exhaust Replace rear wiper blade Replace both licence plate light fittings( after replacing the bulbs I could see the plastic clips are broken on both sides and both lights the lights themselves were just about hanging in so had to hold in with some industrial tape for now ) As you can tell I am a Honda fanatic ha ha Jay

  24. Reading about other people's issues with vehicles, particularly EV's on the internet sites, many are giving advice on how to do this. Believe me it is not something you really want to do. For example, after six months of issues, the burden of proof shifts to you—you must prove that the fault was present at the time of purchase. Not all faults present themselves within this time frame and you will still be charged for usage, mileage and damage, however small this may be! depreciation, Etc. Etc. Best to try and sort out your complaints under the manufacturer's warranty. Keep a journal of all that crops up, dates, places, pictures of visual warnings displayed on the instrument panel, speed at the time, where it occurred, what other interventions did you do to try and clear or correct the fault, if possible, how long it lasted. It all becomes a nightmare. Not easy to do, best avoided.

  25. Hi everyone ..Multiple Honda owner here 2 cars and Four Bikes but sadly one of my old favourites has reached retirement time for me. Its a 1998 Accord Saloon 2.0 VTEC 130k on the clock But sadly showing her age and i cant justify keeping it any more. Sent it to my local garage and it failed MOT and its too much for me to consider doing. (Happy to supply failure sheet if anyone is interested) Engine and gearbox are really good car runs great if anyone needs a Donor car. I'm not going to break it for parts or sell it bit by bit so if anyone is interested Its the whole car thats available.V5 is in my name and i have owned the car over 10 years.
  26. Hello Davey, sorry to hear of your issues, ours was done whilst we waited, about an hour or so. When I asked what the update was for they not quite sure but sems ok, we have only used our own 7.4 Kw and a fast charge twice but all good. Only issue we had was the car had never been filled with A.C gas, from new apparently, time will tell, personally I expect it to lose it all shortly then they may start investigating why it was empty and after many, many hours they'll find one. I feel 4 months is not a reasonable time, but who determines what is reasonable? Rejecting a vehicle is a nightmare and not an easy process. Keep in touch. Regards
  27. Hi Yerman hope your update went OK. I took mine in on 31st December 2024 for this update and it killed the car totally. It took Virtu Honda Stockton nearly 4 months to actually get the car going again. Honda felt that 4 months to repair the car was reasonable and i have appealed to the motor ombudsman to rule on this but so far no decision.
  28. It's quite disconcerting to think that the dealers are confused about the update. Be interested to see where this goes
  29. Hi Adrian - welcome to the Club Wow! fabulous mileage for an old Honda, but that was back in an era when cars were made properly and lasted for years. I run a BMW Z3 which is 25 years old and 125k and have never really put a spanner to it in anger. Starts everytime and drives without any squeaks or rattles - a properly built car from that era. Great to have you onboard and feel free to post up some pics of the old girl
