  1. My 2006 Honda FR-V, 2.0l petrol has failed MOT with an exhaust leak, co content exceeding limits and lambda outside limits. My mechanic has pointed to the centre silencer, which is leaking at the joint with the rear section of the exhaust. Four years ago, I replaced the exhaust center silencer box with a pattern brand (EuroFlo) - I can't remember if as the OEM spare part was even available at that time. Is it normal for this component to wear out so quickly? I'm still using the original OEM exhaust for the rear section and that has lasted for 18 years and 100,000 miles without issues, whereas the replacement has failed after just four years. …

Hi, my vehicle is suffering rear inner edge tyre wear. I am aware there is some adjustment that can be made on the lower arms, my question is - is there any adjustment that can be made to rear wheel alignment. I believe that the 'adjustment ' nut impacts on the rear camber and is adjustable for each wheel. Anyone can provide some more information on the subject or point me in the right direction ? My vehicle has clocked up 145k miles and has always been a bit heavy on rear tyres, even after 4 wheel alignment at a reputable garage chain, in fact on that occasion an adjustment was made but insufficient adjustment to be within tolerance. The cars history is known …

  6. My remote control was becoming slower and slower to respond, and it got to the point where I had to press it multiple times for it to open/lock the car. I changed the battery, and at the time I remember having some trouble getting it to work. Initially it refused to work and then after pressing the buttons a few times it started to work. This was in early August. Then last week I went out; when I unlocked the car it worked perfectly but when I came to lock the car the remote control was completely dead. No gradual degradation like I had last time, and the battery was changed only a couple of months ago. I was able to lock the car with the key, but when I …

  7. Hi All, recently found myself a gem of an example of a FR-V with super low miles BUT it has a leak in the aircon system. If anyone knows anyone who specialises in either Honda or AC please drop a message with their details. I had it re-gassed and in 2 weeks its leaked out and no more cold air. My mobile mechanic says most of the time it is either the compressor or condenser. Could also leak from faulty o-rings in the hoses. car has done 53 thousand miles. Thank you

Hi guys, I've been having trouble with fitting a ball joint to a new suspension arm on the NSF of my 1.8 ES. I bought the part from Eurocarparts as I needed it quickly due to being driving to Wales the next day. However after some serious play in the steering, I thought it was a cheap and nasty ball joint so bought another. Same thing again.....I then looked at the wheel bearing and hub, and upon removal of the knuckle and the suspension arm (while they were still connected by the ball joint), I realise that the ball joint is too small for the bore hole in the suspension arm! The "fitment details" tab on Eurocarparts website doesnt say anything other than "Ho…

Please can anyone help me with my 2007 frv that has noisy front suspension when driving along over slightly uneven ground. From both sides directly under where your feet are. Possibly anti roll bar main mounts. No free play in any ball joints etc. Unable to check for movement when on the ground as very little space. Ideally need a 4 poster ramp so it stays at road going height but garages won't do it for less than a hours labour time. Has anyone had the same issues with noise. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks

  10. Hi, I've recently noticed that when the needle is sat between 60 and 70 mph, the needle bounces. I think the speed sensor could possibly be faulty. Can someone please tell me where the sensor is located? And is it a straightforward replacement? Thanks Simon

  11. The left hand side of the silver tailgate trim that sits above the registration plate has been coming loose on the left hand side and now I'm worried that the right hand side might be coming loose as well. What is the best way to secure it? I'm not sure if something has snapped or just weakened, my guess is that whatever clips are used to hold it in place are either broken or no longer effective. My mechanic tried to glue it - I'm not sure what type of glue he used - but the glue came off within a week.

Hello all. I’m a fairly new Honda owner but have inherited a 1.8 FRV from a family member. There is major play in the NSF wheel which I have narrowed down to a bad wheel bearing (after changing all ball joints, tie rod ends, drop links and wishbones!). I want to change the hub assembly along with the bearing. But damn! They are hard to find at a good price! The part number is 44600-S7A-000. Will any others fit from other Hondas does anyone know??? I refuse to pay over £100 for something that costs £30 on other Hondas (including the 2.2 FRV). TIA for any help. Any pointers are greatly appreciated

  14. Hi. My 2007 1.8 petrol needs a new lock actuator. There are a few on eBay, but not for the exact same model of FRV. I’m assuming Honda wouldn’t have changed the actuators between years and engine types, but does anyone know for sure? Thanks
