  1. Hi all New to the forum and wondered how people have fared with the hybrid CRV. After a lot of narrowing down, it's between a 2019 hybrid CRV (58k) for £20,300 and a Skoda Karoq 1.5 petrol for £18000, both from main dealers. I'd be particularly interested to know: 1) how reliable have people found the hybrid CRV? 2) how comfortable have they found the seats? 3) how have people found Honda dealers (I've heard expensive) and whether people are happy taking their hybrids to trusted local mechanics instead. We do mainly short trips, so a car that does better mpg in city driving would suit us very well. We love the space and I love the hybrid technology. It seems to drive really well. After two test drives, I'm still not quite sure whether the seats are supportive enough (I'm 6 ft 2, 13 and 1/2 stone, and prone to lower back ache), and I'm surprised it doesn't come with roof bars as standard. Grateful for any/all advice. We are hoping to make a decision this weekend.

  2. Hi All, I need some input please (on whether to try and keep my 2000 Honda Civic 1.4 SE alive forever - (or not). I lucked accross this car 11 years ago, and she's been fantastic ever since. I'm easily pleased - if she gets me from A to B and is reliable, I'm happy. So her beauty was an absolute bonus. I say beauty - she's beautiful to me - but she is not in 'mint' condition. She has some scratches to the paintwork and a soggy foot well in the winter that I've never been able to cure completely, but her shape is quite spectacular and she's been a great runner whilst I've had her (and still is). At some pont in her past, the passenger side wing has obviously been replaced (I'd guess with a slightly different civic wing because the fit around the head light is not perfect). A couple of people have told me her shape is iconic and collectable, so ...I'm trying to figure out what to do at this point as she's just failed her MOT quite hard for the first time in a long time. I have decided I'm going to fix her (this time) - but I need to decide how long I'm going to do that - woudl it be an investment if she's potentially collectable? I'm wondering if she is really collectible with the issues I've mentioned? I guess I'm trying to find out if its worth ploughing more money into her or make this the last time (I said the last time would be the last time : ). Or, because I can't have her crushed, do I flog her to an enthusiast who will love her for the rest of her days who has the skills to maintain her (which I don't). I'd really appreciate any advice here. Note - This is not my car - this is a pic I've pulled off the web but its exactly what I have (same colour aswell)

  4. You two enjoy the freedom that 20mph gives us, what they haven't told you that like tobacco it's reducing by 1mph each years until everyone is riding a penny - farthing. 'A lot has been said about politices; some of it complimentary, but most of it accurate'

  5. I believe they are trying to impose it in the UK as well, its nonsense apart from outside schools or other areas where as previously commented Children Play or there are persons who might be injured, at 20 mph Cars are hardly out of Second Gear or still in Second Gear so how long are they going to last. ????
