Discs replacement and clunky noise at the front
Trevor replied to Eban1969's topic in Jazz 2001 to 2008
Hi Eban Only the rear caliper pistons should need winding back - the fronts will just push straight back in. Usually best to release the bleed nipple when retracting the pistons and topping up afterwards. Makes it easier to push in and also removes the fluid that has sat in the caliper which is required to refresh the old fluid every so often. In addition, it does not send fluid back through the system in reverse which can sometimes (but now quite rarely) flip the master cylinder seals and also cause damage to the ABS hydraulic system. The clunking sounds like a worn CV joint which is causing the noise. -
Thats £82.50 per tyre and very good for Avon.....great tyres! Have just fitted Avons to my motorbike and shame they have only just now stopped making them in the UK 😞

WHICH MOTORING MAGAZINE ON HONDA CRV
Trevor replied to BAZZER RN 1's topic in Honda General Discussions
I hope it reads positively? Which I'm sure it does as Honda have always boasted high safety standards -
Hi....welcome to the club! Yes, Lexus have been very slow to respond to the security threat and I think this has put a lot of people off from buying one....especially now the insurance is increasing because of the thefts I don't personally think it is too much of a problem with Honda, maybe the thieves find them a bit boring to steal 🙂 Superb choice of powerful cars prior to the Lexus and now the Honda Good to have you onboard

Hi squint68 You can place an advert in the Cars For Sale section of this forum if you wish

It does show as a warning (amber) to check oil level from what I can gather. Maybe a sensor issue but wonder if you could top it slightly with a small amount to see if it disappears?

Does seem quieter than normal so possibly Easter break and school holidays taking up some time I guess. Well its certainly isn't the glorious sunshine we're not getting that's to blame 🙂

I would advise removing the hose and taking it to a local specialist hose repairer (such as Hyphose) who make hoses and pipes to order for diggers and suchlike with hydraulic systems. They can match your pipe and make an identical new one for not a lot of pennies Let us know how you get on with it p.s. if the ignition is not switched on (e.g. the fuel pump is not primed) then the fuel pressure should have dropped enough for you to remove the hose and just deal with a slight amount to mop up but at least not spraying out under pressure.

If you scan the ECU to see if there are any fault codes it would be a good start as the possible causes are many.....split turbo boost hose, blocked EGR, sticking turbo vanes, blocked fuel filter.....etc

Hi....welcome to the Club You should be able to get new wiper blades from Halfords and go for the option of getting them fitted so they have to do the legwork to open the packaging to offer up potentially suitable blades to your car. Once you find suitable ones, keep the packaging for future reference but it just comes down to length and fittings so aftermarket parts are fine in the situation Anything else specific to the Stream then I would look on eBay (link below) for listings and see what is out there https://www.ebay.co.uk/b/bn_1838652?mkcid=1&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&siteid=3&campid=5338938280&customid=HondaKW&toolid=20012

Hi...welcome to the Club most of these items you should be able to purchase through eBay....try this link which will take you to the Honda parts sections https://www.ebay.co.uk/b/bn_1838652?mkcid=1&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&siteid=3&campid=5338938280&customid=HondaKW&toolid=20012 Also, costs are far cheaper than OE parts but try to stick to the best you can get for your budget, cheaper components won't last and can be of dubious quality

1989 Honda Prelude 2.0 EX Auto - 22000 Miles
Trevor replied to Michael Hargreaves's topic in New Members Introductions
Hi Michael....welcome to the Club Sounds an interesting project and story to tell of its tragic history. The exhaust I can understand as open to corrosion with standing in water but the engine, if not turned over should be fine as wouldn't necessarily ingest water to the cylinders. I would be tempted to remove as much of the anciliary items from the top of the engine and take the plugs out and fill with WD40, etc to turn over to clean the bores. Obviously, the cambelt would need changing along with water pump, etc and I reckon it will clean up nicely internally. I believe the pistons have ceramic coating and wouldn't require replacing or even cleaning. Let us know how you get on and photos of the condition as it would be great to see -
Honda jazz/fit import engine oil query
Trevor replied to Pat1964's topic in Jazz / Crosstar 2020 onwards
It worth checking the Castrol Oil Selector site to confirm if there is an alternative oil https://www.castrol.com/en_gb/united-kingdom/home/car-engine-oil-and-fluids/motor-oil-and-fluids-finder.html -
I have found that using an ABS sensor from the same model of car but another corner (has to be as long if not longer) does work - e.g. O/S/R for use in N/S/R or either one of the front wheels Also, has to be the same fitting but as the resistance is not too different (higher. lower) so it does function and then you just loop the cable so its tucked out of the way

Oh definitely one with gum protection as well 🙂

I had an old model (1st generation) CR-V drive past me yesterday and it was kitted out for off-road. Have to say it looked very impressive and judging by this video it is not all show but indeed can go offroad as well

Toothpaste is apparently very good as a scrub to remove the build up on the lenses
-
Do you have fault code(s) from the vehicle? If you could narrow it down to what exactly is bringing the warning light on then it may be easier to diagnose. Sometimes written on the invoice or if not, then ask the dealer for the codes they extracted from the engine management ECM

Relay Cleaner Control module. What does it do?
Trevor replied to Goonersman's topic in CR-V 2001 to 2006
As far as I can tell it is for the headlight washers so is tied in with the windscreen washers and also takes a power signal from the headlamps when switched on -
It has a timing chain and also naturally aspirated engine
