MOT advisores "subframe corroded but not seriously weakened
Trevor replied to Alan gsd's topic in Honda General Discussions
Its not just cars, think I could do with some WD40 on a daily basis sometimes 🙂 -
Honda has relaunched its advanced connected car application following consultation with Owners and Users. The MyHonda+ app now covers the brand’s full current range of hybrid, plug-in hybrid and battery electric vehicles – allowing owners to control a wide range of functionality and further integrate their vehicle into their lives. From July 1st 2024, owners of the Jazz e:HEV, Civic e:HEV, HR-V e:HEV, e:Ny1, ZR-V e:HEV and the latest-generation CR-V e:HEV and e:PHEV's will be able to access the virtual dashboard, remote vehicle operation, location finder, and geo-fencing to ensure peace of mind when leaving the car. In addition, Honda’s Digital Key will be made available for all models except Jazz, allowing owners to transform their smartphone into a key and safely share vehicle access with up to five additional drivers. Other features of the revised MyHonda+ app include the ability to send a point of interest to the sat-nav, create favourite routes, plus the use of a smartphone camera when pairing with the vehicle. Revisions to the app also mean more timely and accurate updating of the vehicle status once the ignition is switched off. All-electric and plug-in hybrid models will gain further functionality, allowing users to remotely schedule vehicle charging to meet their needs, as well as pre-heating or pre-cooling the cabin via the AC system prior to a journey. Subscription models Honda has also simplified and streamlined the MyHonda+ subscription process to ensure customers fully understand what services will be available – rolling the previous ‘Core Connectivity’, ‘Safety & Journey’, and ‘Honda Digital Key’ packages into one. This will be available free of charge for three years from the vehicle’s first registration date, followed by a low monthly payment thereafter. This new structure also allows second and subsequent owners to use the functionality free of charge if the vehicle is purchased within three years from the vehicle’s first registration. Previously, this was only available to the first registered owner of the vehicle. The updated My Honda+ will be rolled out for all existing and new users from July 1st, 2024. Current owners of the Jazz e:HEV, Civic e:HEV, HR-V e:HEV, ZR-V e:HEV and the latest generation CR-V e:HEV can book an appointment at their local dealer to activate the TCU module within the car, to enable the vehicle to sync with the app. New and prospective owners can also experience the app and trial its new functionality at dealerships.

MOT advisores "subframe corroded but not seriously weakened
Trevor replied to Alan gsd's topic in Honda General Discussions
You can treat it with Lanolin type product which tends to hold back the corrosion and gets into most areas....easy to apply also -
No you should be able to lift down the sump on the transmission once its drained and change the filter
-
Honda paint codes - LocationIt can also be found in the door shut (the area revealed when you open the door), this is more likely on later models. On certain models the code may be located on a white sticker, in the door shut near to the lock mechanism.

You could try disconnecting the battery and leaving for about half hour then reconnect to see if the sensors come back online

New Owner Honda Stepwagon 2013 Spada
Trevor replied to Frogeyepete's topic in New Members Introductions
Hi Frogeyepete ... welcome to the Club Hopefully you shouldn't get too many problems with the Stepwagon and as long as it is maintained and any issues arise then can be dealt with before they become expensive. I reckon that changing the battery is a good call and will avoid any strange occurrences which can occur with original Japanese batteries, which are usually smaller in size. Good to have you onboard and keep us updated with how you're getting on with it -
Ordered my Honda e:Ny1 Advance today :)
Trevor replied to lurch9494's topic in New Members Introductions
Yes, finish is far better than most and was surprised to see how quickly the fasteners corroded on my BMW GS1200, really disappointing for what was a great bike Glad to hear you're pleased with the E:Ny1 and always nice to hear feedback from owners - good and bad -
well you've got a better memory than me then Alan 😂

Same here, currently got an Africa Twin and superb Honda reliability for sure -
It should be a good purchase if it has been maintained correctly, but you would need to research this to see that is the case. Test drive it and see if you like it and if not too much money then go for it
-
I'm surprised your calipers need rebuilding, one maybe but all of them? There is a possibility that you could find some aftermarket calipers to upgrade the braking system such as Willwood which may not be too expensive if you can find secondhand ones

Hi...welcome to the club Please do let us know how you get on with it when you receive it and have chance to evaluate it -
Sachs is a good make but so also are LUK and BluePrint (the best one to get)
-
I just fitted Avon tyres to my motorbike and has transformed the handling Avon have just done great deals on their tyres as they have now closed their UK manufacturing plant
-
I would ask the Honda dealership as to which models are more popular. I know that they were paying more for a Jazz than they originally sold for as they had buyers queueing up for one...supply and demand!

Hi....welcome to the Club The sunroof seal should(?) peel off the frame and you may be able to place the kink in a different position that won't affect the sunroof operation
-
Hi ..... welcome to the Club What a great looking motor, thanks for sharing Good to have you onboard!
-
They usually seize because of carbon build up but if the pistons are scored or burnt away on the ring lands then it may be something more serious with the fuelling or cooling system
-
Hi....welcome to the Club Nice project and although parts are now getting difficult to acquire there are still plenty of bits around (scrapyards may be the way forwards with some parts though) Good to have you onboard!
-
I would keep trying the release fluid and see if it does eventually free up Alternatively, try gently moving the wheel backwards and forwards in small motions as you try to the key in the lock
-
Ah now that's my passion....nothing like visiting an old English pub in the countryside for a nice pint of ale 🙂

Honda HR-V 2002 1.6 automatic judder when starting off.
Trevor replied to middleportreddie's topic in HR-V 1999 to 2006
I think if you have a transmission service done then any loose or worn components will surely be picked up during the service. Let us know how you get on with it -
2005 Honda CR-V 2.2TD Sport - in a field
Trevor replied to PaulStafford1984's topic in CR-V 2001 to 2006
The CR-V 4 wheel drive works on an 'as and when' basis....e.g. it kicks in if it loses traction so is technically a 'Crossover' rather than an 'All Wheel Drive' vehicle As Alan has mentioned, a lot of it comes down to tyres - if they are not off road tyres then you won't get any traction once the treads fill with mud
