  1. I have a 2006 1.7 FRV. The hand brake lever is fully out and will only return a couple of inches, when released. I have unbolted the assembly from under the dash, but there does not seem any access into the unit. When releasing the handle the cable to the adjuster under the seat does not move. Any ideas would be much appreciated
  2. Thank you, it was working fine. I replaced the crankshaft, due to a scored bearing journal and now the ommobiliser light comes on. Is the Immobiliser control unit common to many Hondas do you know where it is located? I cannot find any information on an FR-V. It would be nice to find whether the chip in the ECU need either a high or a low then it could be bypassed and a simple switch hidden to control that feature. Thanks again
  3. Did you get the car working? I have a similar fault on an FR-V?
  4. Did you solve the problem I have a similar issue on an FR-V?
  5. Finally all back together, had to replace the crankshaft in the end as the big end journals were scored and kept trashing the bearing shells. I just opened another topic 'FR-V Immobiliser Query' as the Immobiliser light comes on and will not fire up. Any help would be much appreciated thanks
  6. I have a 2006 FR-V 1.7 Petrol V-Tec (D17A2 engine) . I had to replace the crankshaft all back together but the green immobiliser light comes on. The engine cranks, but will not fire - no spark. The fuel pump primes - but the plugs are dry so no fuel getting to the cylinders. I replaced the battery in the key fob I checked the Immobiliser fuse under the dash and that is OK. Is there anything I have missed? Is there a wiring diagram for the immobiliser circuit anywhere? Thanks in advance for any help
  7. Thank you, I went back into the site and this looks to be for a Kia Rio. Thanks for looking Cheers
  8. Thank you, just running for an hour to check all is OK after putting the engine back in. Cheers
  9. Can you run the engine when the air con system has been emptied?
  10. My daughter has a 2006 FR-V 1.7, I am looking for the torque setting for the front wheel Hub Nut and the Ball Joint Nut. Thanks
  11. I wonder if anyone may be able to help? The car is a 2006 1.7 petrol, my daughter said the engine started to make a knocking noise. No oil light came on. We did a check and the piston at the pulley wheel end had movement, suggesting a spun big end bearing. We stripped the bottom out and sure enough the shells had spun. There was no damage or scoring on the other three bearings. We replaced all shell bearings and cleaned up the crank journal and the big ends. We checked the journal diameter and it was within spec. Checked that the oil ways were clear with an extra long pipe cleaner and all was ok. Replaced the oil filter and oil. Rebuilt the bottom end and fired her up, the oil pressure light came on when you turned the ignition switch and went off once pressure had built up. All was fine for around 10 minutes then again it spun up. There was again no damage or scoring on the other three bearings. Any ideas? Maybe if anyone has a spare big end standard bearing cap to try, as I running out of ideas. Finally will any D17A2 engine run in the FR-V or does it need the ECU as well, I would move all sensors over to the replacement engine. Thanks in advance Dave
