Took car to Honda today, scraping front breaks, told need new discs and pads. Car done 3500 miles, 14 months old, asked for £320, said not under warrenty, blamed low miles and weather conditions near coast, any thoughts?  They say will ask Honda fow good will, not happy.

That does seem exceptionally low usage for needing replacement discs and pads.
Chances are that is making a scraping noise because it has not had much usage.

A good long drive should clean up the discs and the noise will disappear and therefore not need replacing

Pics taken of discs by mech. at Honda dealer show discs pitted, insisting lack of use and conditions living near coast?. Awaiting reply from Honda.
