Hi. I a new member. Just changed my wife's great but ageing 2.0 Civic Sport for a 2006 Jazz which has the N/S door mirror hanging off. The stumpy bit is still attached to the door by 3 10mm nuts but the mirror housing itself has some broken fragments of plastic round the bottom, held in with 3 small screws, and the whole lot appears to have been held together with a large amount of black caulk. I can't see any pictures on line of what it should look like to start a repair so wonder if anyone can help please. Otherwise I'll have to dismantle the O/S mirror to see what is  inside it and I 'd prefer not to have to do that in case it is fragile and goes the same way as the other one. Thanks.

I think in this situation it may be better to fit a secondhand mirror assembly as I'm not sure a repair will hold successfully.

A secondhand mirror shouldn't be too expensive and is easy enough to fit
