I have a 2017 1.6 idtec 21k, recently been getting noise when cold like big ends worn goes away after couple of mins random but more than i would like, just out of warranty

Hi William.....welcome to the Forum

 

It would be unlikely to be big ends as not a known issue with Honda. Definitely check the oil level and condition though.

However, it may just be injector noise as the when the engine is cold the injection cycle is enhanced so this can create excess noise until it is warmed up.

Still worth taking in to get it checked rather than damage the engine.

I don`t think the big ends are the problem,that is the closest to the noise i`m hearing, posted here to see if any similar issues, this has only just happened and is intermitant  car has just been serviced, and had a new clutch under warranty.

Only other thing I can think of is the Dual-Mass Flywheel (if not changed with the clutch) as these can rattle but only usually on start up or shut down
