I’m in the Philippines and my Honda hrv has a broken front passenger side retractor. I understood Honda have a lifetime guarantee on seatbelts however on contacting Honda Philippines I’m told it’s only only covered for three years. I notice that the company Takata has multiple lawsuits in the US and the Hrv brand of seatbelts is the same. Honda want 6k plus to repair the issue. Anyone had an similar issues?

I thought the Takata airbag recall was worldwide as the imminent failure and resulting injuries are the same no matter which country you are in and should apply to the Philippines aswell.
I would definitely be hassling Honda to deal with it
