2007 CRV - MOT advisory (Suspension mounting + Subframe *RUST*)

Morning folks,

I'm new to the site and wanted your thoughts and opinions on the following.

My recent MOT passed but came up with some worrying advisories...see below...

  • Suspension component mounting prescribed area is corroded but not considered excessive various underbody corrosion front and rear (5.3.6 (a) (i))
  • Front Subframe mounting prescribed area is corroded but not considered excessive (5.3.6 (a) (i))
  • Rear Subframe mounting prescribed area is corroded but not considered excessive (5.3.6 (a) (i))
  • Offside Front Play in steering rack inner joint(s) ()

I've been informed that there is nothing that can be done with the rust and the car could be good for a year and fail MOT or good for another 5 years. I love the car and shelled out approx' £5.5k two years ago for it, selling the car with this issue seems a waste of time...what would you do or advise? no pictures sorry.

Car is a petrol model, ES, 95k miles, in good/average condition.

Thx

Tony
