smallzoo Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 We currently have a 2003 golf but we will soon have 3 dogs instead of 1 , two of which labrador size we want to stand/sit in the boot hence looking at a CRV As its to be shared and probably only do about 5000 miles a year we have decided on a auto petrol and we dont really want to send more than £3000 I know its like asking how long is piece of string but is this model version a safe bet for reliability , maintenance etc There are quite a few on autotrader but I know if we buy the wrong one it could cost loads...
Neil.H Posted November 12, 2021 Posted November 12, 2021 Hi I have a 2005 crv auto fully loaded with 110k on the clock and it drives like it's 20k , I have always had Hondas and have never been let down , the crv is well built and does 27 mpg. Things the look at are front discs and pads on a high mileage, but to be honest it it's be look after 100k is just run in , to help the engine last oil and filter is important the sat nav in the early ones do play up a little and it's hard to get updated maps most owners just fit a new unit as it's cheaper than update maps from honda which is about £200 and is 2011 map which will be out of date again soon
smallzoo Posted November 12, 2021 Author Posted November 12, 2021 Thanks a lot Does it suffer from rust at all bearing in mind the age
Neil.H Posted November 12, 2021 Posted November 12, 2021 All I can say is they don't all rust , it depends on how it's look after , I may just be lucky with mine it's mint it's had 5 owners but they all looked after it , don't rush into buying the first one you see find a good one , they do come up mine cost £3k
