Honda Accord Coupe (year 2000) automatic

I have, for some time, experienced very intermittent starting problems .

The battery has been tested and is in excellent condition.

The car will start perfectly , for weeks, sometimes months, then you can be 100 miles from home and it won’t start.

Yet when the Road Assistance arrives, the car will start with jump leads. Trouble is… you can never foresee when this is going to happen, it just means the car is unreliable.

Two suggestions with different origins.

1. Faulty distributor cap

2. (More likely) problems with main fuel relay.

Can anyone throw any further geo my way? Please.

Same problem with my CRX targa 1993. Will drive fine then switch off and try 10 mins later and turns over but no start!

same problem few years ago. Changed the coolant sensor and problem fixed. This time no such luck. Think it’s the main fuel relay but getting at it is a nightmare. Ordering one today in hope I can at least unplug old one and attach new one. Let you know.
