Matt8496 Posted June 30, 2022 Posted June 30, 2022 Hi all new member here, just bought a 68 plate (Jan 2019) Civic 1.5L Manual Prestige, running on petrol. I was reading the car manual which says it is ok to use regular petrol aka E10 ones temporarily but not for ongoing use as otherwise it might damage the engine. Is this actually the case? I am not sure if I am prepared to pay for the premium E5 petrol on a regular basis in view of current sky high fuel price in the UK...but then when I look at this official Honda article on this topic it seems to suggest both E5 and E10 petrol are fine to use. Any advice are appreciated. Many thanks.
Trevor Posted July 13, 2022 Posted July 13, 2022 I cannot see any reason the car cannot run fine on E10 as it is new enough and been designed to run on Ethanol mixed fuel. Not sure why the manual states that though?
