Hi you Expert Technical Honda Crv Guys, I need some help please, The Gear Change on my mk3 1997cc  Manual 4 Wheel Drive CRV is not smooth when selecting through the gears I can only describe it as clunky from 1st gear to 6th gear and also the reverse gear, could this be due to requiring a gear box oil change which might solve the problem or a gear selector alignment which might required, I have never experienced this before in other cars , my local garage, they are not Honda Specialists say it could be because its a 4 wheel drive CRV, that could this be the problem or is this their answer as they are not sure , I would really appreciate some help please Guys as its annoying and tiring changing gears,

HELP PLEASE

The rear differential oil requires changing periodically on the CR-V

Using special fluid it is a simple enough job and cures the clunking when turning onto a driveway for example

Also, the CR-V does suffer from a clunky first to second gear change and you'll notice that a slower change helps to alleviate this

Hi Trevor

In your opinion how much should a Garage possibly charge to do the Diff Oil Change as I probably think my local is a bit steep at £ 140.00

Hi Guys

Update on the notchy gear change, after having the Gear Box Changed and adding the Molyslip as recommended, it does seem to have made some difference, not a silky smooth change but a definite improvement I think, so will see how it goes and let you Guys know more late on when it has all settled in.

Cheers

Wise Comments my Friend it is still a bit notchy but as other 4 x 4 Drivers have told me ,this might be the cause of it and having looked on several websites with Honda Drivers having the same problem it might be the case, so we will have to see or look further into this.

Thank you for you reply

Best wishes
