ELH Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 I have a 2017 CRV SE1.6 diesel. There is an intermittent groan / low pitched whistle (loud) that starts after it has warmed up (typically 30+ mins of driving). It stops when you brake and also when you steer left. It seems to happen most when you’ve been driving at speed, brake and then start to pull away - a little like something is rubbing and stuck (it doesn’t sound like grinding though), but also happens when moving at fairly high speeds and for long periods of time - 40-50mph and below. I’ve recently had the brake pads and discs replaced to try and solve this but it hasn’t helped. Any ideas as to why this is happening? Thanks for any suggestions.
ELH Posted May 20, 2023 Author Posted May 20, 2023 As an idea of the sound when driving on the motorway (can’t upload more due to size). IMG_2932.mov
Trevor Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 First thought is a wheel bearing (probably Nearside Front - if it disappears when you steer left) Definitely worth having that checked first
