Bob Livermore Posted November 3, 2023 Posted November 3, 2023 Hi all,new member here. I own a 2011 Honda CRV 2.2 idtec diesel. I love the car to bits but have recently have a problem with a split EGR pipe (quite a common fault apparently). Before spending a small fortune getting it repaired I wondered if any members have gone down the ERG delete route and did it work ok? I have read that deleting the EGR can generally improve performance. Im,e ok to fit the blanking plate myself but will have to find a tuner to delete the system in the cars ECU. I think I read online that the ECU program couldn,t be deleted ..hence the enquiry. This looks a very knowledgeable forum so fingers crossed one of members has advise on the subject. many thx for any advice/suggestions.
Trevor Posted November 21, 2023 Posted November 21, 2023 Generally the EGR is fine if cleaned out and driven through a high rev range. The 2.2 CRV is superb engine and actually benefits to run at higher revs Mine actually gave a better MPG when driven hard on motorways (70 to 80mph in 6th gear - higher speeds in Europe) Never had any issue with DPF, EGR or Turbo Vanes being gummed up....the high revs generates enough pressure to blow out the carbon
