Hi basically when I put me foot down there's a long delay until power kicks in.

Could this be the egr valve maybe blocked.

If you scan the ECU to see if there are any fault codes it would be a good start as the possible causes are many.....split turbo boost hose, blocked EGR, sticking turbo vanes, blocked fuel filter.....etc

I have the same issue with my FRV. I have taken it to a garage and had it diagnosed as being a blocked EGR and a faulty MAP sensor. Fingers crossed the power returns when I have them swapped out for new parts!
