Marcin Posted April 12 Posted April 12 Hello, does anyone have a first generation CR-V with the 126bhp engine and automatic gearbox? If so, what speed is your engine doing at 60mph (level road, steady speed)? I think my transmission, or somethin else, is slipping slightly, because the engine is doing about 3000rpms and stays there, and I thought it should be closer to 2500-2600rpms. Any advice would be much appreciated. There don't appear to be any other issues with the gearbox. It is selecting gears without any issues and the change is about as smooth as any other 4 speed automatic gearbox from that era.
Trevor Posted May 9 Posted May 9 Have you tried a fluid and filter change which may revive the transmissions performance?
Marcin Posted May 13 Author Posted May 13 Not yet, although it is on the to do list. Lack of time is a factor. Though the transmission is changing gears smoothly and there is no clonking when engaging gears. When I eventually get round to changing the fluid I will put an update up. The fluid itself does not look too bad. It is not new, I can tell that much, but not too bad. Is the filter actually a serviceable item on these transmissions, or can you only access it when you are rebuilding the gearbox? 1
Trevor Posted June 26 Posted June 26 No you should be able to lift down the sump on the transmission once its drained and change the filterÂ
