CivicUser Posted April 24 Posted April 24 Hello fellow Civic enthusiasts, I'm reaching out to the community for some advice regarding my 2005 Honda Civic 1.6 i-VTEC SE Hatchback 5dr. The car has been sitting unused for the past 9 years and unfortunately, does not start. It has an exceptionally low mileage of only 7,500 miles but requires significant work to get back on the road. Here are some of the issues: - The battery is dead, and there’s no oil or petrol. - Two of the tires are deflated. - All original keys are lost. I’m at a crossroads about whether to invest in repairs to potentially restore it to its former glory or to sell it as is. I understand that with a bit of investment, there might be a chance to revive it, especially considering the low mileage, which might attract collectors or restoration enthusiasts. Given your experience and passion for Civics, I’d love to get your input: - Do you think it’s worth repairing a Civic of this age and condition? - Are there specific challenges I should be aware of in restoring a Civic that has been idle for such a long period? - Or would it be more practical to simply sell the car as is and let someone else take on the project? Any advice, insights, or recommendations on mechanics or restoration experts who specialize in older Civics would also be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much for your help!
