Hello everyone!

I'm trying to trace an oil leak on our 2011 Honda CRV with 375Tkm on the clock. It has been parked in the garage for the last couple of years as my wife upgraded to a newer vehicle, and I've been keeping this one as a backup. Well, it's time to retire my current beater and upgrade to this beauty, so I'll finally have to figure out where the oil is going. 🙂

The engine had been leaking oil for the last little while that she drove it, but it would only leak if the engine was running; hence, it never left any oil spots on the driveway. A shop told me it was the oil pan gasket, but I think it is coming from somewhere higher. It looks like the oil is coming from somewhere underneath the intake.

I've tried to take a picture, but it is hard to see. However, there is this sensor underneath the intake, right next to the starter, that looks suspiciously wet. I've been trying to find some pictures or diagrams of the engine online that might show what this sensor is or what else underneath the intake could be leaking, but I haven't had much luck. I don't see any oil up top around the valve cover or at the front Vtec solenoid cover, so I'm confident it is not coming from there.

What is this sensor, and is it even part of the oil circuit? From what I have found so far, it looks like the oil pressure sensor/switch should be on the other side of the engine.

I believe hat sensor sits about here:
