Hi everyone, new to the club and need advice.

It's the HJazz 2008 1500 engine 6 gear semi auto

I've just had a sudden loss of power of power, it appeared out of the blue, I could only describe the noise as a lower bass drone...the only thing I've noticed over the past few weeks is a lower fuel consumption, normally 43mpg down to 36,which I tried to kid myself was the cold weather and only doing short runs to the shops, but I've had two HJ's over 20years and never had a fuel loss like that, any idea's please...TIA

Not sure if your i-VTEC engine has a turbo (which could be the cause) but I would highly recommend taking it to a garage to have any fault codes read to determine the exact cause of the issue.

Please let us know how you get on with it

Hi Trev...Thanks for the reply....I'm just about to go to the garage...unfortunately there were no codes to be read which seems quite strange....I've just taken the car around the block this morning and it was fine, so I'm thinking it's to do with transmission once the oil has warmed up,...the engine it's self whilst out of gear sounds fine, so that's points to transmission too, but of course I guess there are lots of other potential candidates which I wouldn't have a clue about, filters, sensors, Cats and so on...again many thanks...John
