I have a '21 plate CR-V Ex fitted with a Heads Up Display. When switched on the screen pops up in front of the steering wheel. Last month however this stopped working; it deploys about 25%, judders and then returns to about 20% deployed meaning it can't be read. Local Honda dealer said that while the projector is working the screen is somehow jammed and they can't fix it. The drive mechanism is a sealed unit and can't be taken apart to see what's wrong. Quote for replacement is £3800 !!

Has anyone had this problem? How do you remove the unit from the dash? Have seen a picture of one on eBay and it seems to be held together by screws, not a sealed unit. Any help would be appreciated.

You should have some sort of warranty if recently purchased.

Hi, thanks for your reply. However, my car is now out of warranty. Honda dealer said that as the car is only just out of warranty I might get some support from Honda UK. Wishful thinking! They didn't want to know.

I did that. They weren't interested. Pretty poor I think.
