  2. Out of lots of bikes I have owned 3 have been Hondas and all have impressed. I drove an Accord for some years until it was written off and later I bought a Civic 1.6 SE Executive for my wife. We have owned it since 2005 and it was used by all the family when needed. Always serviced annually it has not been so thoroughly cared for recently, other than annual oil changes. I would like to think that it could continue giving service either as a restoration project or even as spares for another car. I would like it to go to an enthusiast rather than just a breaker. If no one is interested I will just put it on ebay. The body is reasonable and the engine/gearbox as sweet as ever at around 103000 miles. Underneath is a different story. Still in use with MoT to 03. 04.26 it rocks and rolls like a boat but the leather interior is as comfy as ever. Is it of interest to anyone on here?

  5. not sure, sorry! but I would try to find the most reputable rebuilder rather than the cheapest as they are incredibly complex and expensive to put right afterwards. Surprised there are no exchange / rebuilt boxes out there

Oh its frightening how much things were back then but in my day £1 was a huge amount of money as pocket money then was two and half pence (was the old shilling) and could get quite a bit from the sweetshop with that much. But life was not really under the influence of money and possessions and the good times and memories reflect that. Equally, a new car then was a percentage of the amount of your salary, which apparently today's money it is still that same percentage Interesting post, thanks Alan
  11. That looks in great condition and worth the price for sure.
  12. I hope you didn't pay full price for that awful job. You could make a blank and paint it with a complimentary colour. A local independent paint sprayer could give good advice.
  13. Could be faulty parking brake switch.
  14. The indicated mileage is based on your last driving habit along with external and internal temperature together with battery temperature. Is A.C on, heater fan, seat heats, radio, phone charger switched on, etc. etc.?

  16. I recently sold my 2010 Honda Accord, but was left with the spacesaver spare wheel, which is now cluttering up my garage. If anyone wants it, all they need to do is collect it! It has never been used.
  17. Best thing is to see what the part number is (possibly label or sticker on the motor) and cross-reference to Civic motor on eBay
  18. We couldn't afford to waste good(?) beer by spraying it up the walls - you were obviously a wealthy person in the '70s :-)

  20. Most vehicles nowadays have the facility to retrofit accessories and most of it is in place from the factory (as in wiring loom, fuses, etc). If they car was taken to the dealer for retrofitting lights, etc then it is a case of fitting the lights, putting power to the lights (fuse, switches, etc) and then programming it into the CanBus system to activate it.
  21. Hi all, admins delete if inappropriate, either way thankyou for your help and advice. Up for grabs here: 1998 Honda Civic Aerodeck 1.8 Vti for sale | eBay
  22. Thanks again for your advice
  23. I would be tempted to top it up and see if that changes the reading and especially when it gets down to this level again
  24. I'm selling my Honda FR-V due to moving abroad. It's been well maintained and has a new MOT and full service history. PIctures won't upload here because they're too large, see advert on Gumtree. Located in NW London. Please PM if interested.
  25. Loved the adverts of the era as they were memorable - even after 50 years I can still sing the song that was played or the taste of the drink, etc.
  26. Hi Ivan....welcome to the Club I'm sure you will be pleased with the Jazz and its reliability and build quality Good to have you onboard!
  27. I have found water drips from the air pressure vent ending up on the floor also. Have new one ready to replace and seal in! This is a 2017 CRV. Should add that I have been a CRV driver since 2005 and this is the first one to show a waterleak.
  28. Hi, bought my 2015 1.6 D-tec SE Plus in May and it has been great, the only thing has been the P0001 fault engine code keeps being thrown so I need to replace Fuel Preasure Regulator and Sensor to try and get this code cleared. Does anyone know where is a good place to order these from? Thanks
