Hi, I am new to this site and this is my first post. Although I have been driving for 25+ years I am a total novice when it involves anything more than the aesthetics of a car. So I would greatly appreciate any advice please. I have recently purchased a 2009 Honda CR-V i-CTDI which I'm really happy with. However I need to replace an interior bulb above the rear view mirror. I have removed the non working Festoon bulb which states 'Kelly 12v 8w' on it but I am having real difficulty in sourcing a new bulb. All I can find are 12v 10w Festoon bulbs and I am concerned they may do damage to the car. I did look at LED bulbs but again they are only 10w and I've he…

Hello everyone, this is my first time posting on here, hoping someone can help. I have a 2008 CRV 2.2 diesel, starts first time when cold and runs perfectly even down the motorway. Problem is, once you turn it off it will not start again for 2 or so hours when its cooled down, it just turns over and displays engine light and VSA & TSA. Once cold back to normal again!! Main dealer has said the ECU is not holding its memory and needs a new ECU at £1700. Had a second garage take a look and they have said ECU memory is all there it's just not communicating when warm. Suggested a second hand ECU and swapping the data over. my questi…

Greetings from Ireland. We have just entered entered the world of Honda with the purchase of a 2018 CRV 1.6 DTEC. It was imported from the UK to Ireland by the garage that we bought it from. As things are in KM over here and the car is in miles, we are wondering if there is any way to change the odometer and the gauges to KM? We see that it can be done with other Honda cars, but cannot find out how to do it with this. There is no information about how to do it in the manual. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi All, I have a 2014 2.2 EX CRV bought it Jan 2019, warranty service was done back in Oct 2019, 39kish... 2020 nothing really happened, its been about 1.5years since the last service, thought I better service it and get the discs and pads done after the MOT (which was fine)! BUT, I can't find any info in the books about what service it is meant to be! I normally buy a service pack and give the car to my local garage who does my MOTs etc. Its a low miler, so after the 39K service back in Oct 19 (box 5, 60months service box). I am on 48K, is it a half service or full service? Which pack do I need t…

Looking into an automatic CR-V for covering approx 6-8k miles in a year. Generally, Diesels are not recommended for regular short runs (DPF issues) so the petrol model seems to be a better fit. Reviews in various places seem to suggest that the 2.0 petrol engine is the one to avoid. Lack of power is quoted as an issue and economy is not great either but is it really that bad? I'm not after high performance, just a reliable and comfortable family motor. Do you own one? What do you like/dislike about it? Any pointers/advice is most welcome.

Hi guys, Looking for some help. I've just noticed my 3rd brake light isn't working, looks like it is full of moisture so will probably need replacing. The brake light is fitted to a spoiler and no the actual boot door itself. I've had a look online at how to remove them but not had any luck finding anything showing how to remove it from a spoiler. Has anyone had any experience of changing these out. Thanks

As owners of a 2013 CRV, we are looking to purchase 2 electric bikes and need to find a way to transport them. They would each weight 24 kgs. As we tow a caravan and want to take the bikes with us we cannot use a tow ball fitting carrier. Would prefer a rear vehicle option but are having difficulty finding a suitable one. Have seen roof mounted options but as these bikes are quite heavy a) they seem to be too heavy for the roof bars and b) as we are not getting any younger we are not sure we would be able to lift them anyway. Wondering if anyone else has come across this and has found an answer.

Hi all. I have an intermittent fault on my 2015 CRV diesel auto in that over time, the D drive light flashes for a while which sometimes makes shifting harsh and moving off pretty sluggish. It also stops reverse selecting unless i switch off and restart. Reading the codes, it says code )0974, P0977, P0980 and P0983 which are the 4 drive solenoids all going to open circuit. The odd thing is, any one of the codes can occur first then if I continue to drive, the rest of the codes will randomly show up. All this leads me to think it is a problem with the harness but I have checked all the connections on the gearbox with no apparent problems so perhaps it is at another juncti…

Good morning everyone. I was hoping someone could tell me what this part is that seems to be hanging down from the underside of my car. I just wanted to check first before I went to the garage so that I know what they should be fixing or not. Sorry but i've had a couple of bad experiences with garages so I would really appreciate any advice. There was a tiny pool of water that came out of this bit that's hanging down so I'm baffled. It's in the middle directly underneath the two front seats. Thanks in advance., Sarah.

Hi everyone i have just reserved my 2013 CR-V 2.2 dtec to collect next weekend. It has 55,000miles on the clock. FSH I just wanted to ask a few questions to be prepared for when I collect it. - if there anything I should be checking for with that sort of mileage that should have been done or any issues? - is there any work that will be due to be done at that mileage? I believe these are chain driven?(correct me if I’m wrong). But anything else? - finally the dealer is offering 3 months warranty as standard but with the option to increase to 12 months RAC warranty. Is this worth the paper it’s written on? At £300 extra. Any one had any good or bad exp…

Both my ignition keys are now difficult to put into ignition slot. A little lubricant hasn't made any difference. I think both keys might be worn out as the second less used key is now playing up some 18 months after swapping over. Be grateful for any advice on what i should do. Regards Phil
